For art lovers, the city of Venice is 130 km away. At 50 km we find Trieste, the regional capital that during the era of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy was the Mittel-European living room where several writers like James Joyce and the famous psychologist Sigmund Freud met. You can also make beautiful excursions to visit: the city of Aquileia, 24 km, famous port of the Roman Empire with its interesting archaeological site and its prestigious National Archaeological Museum. Also worthy of a detour is the town of San Daniele del Friuli, which climbs up the hills above Udine, with the Duomo and the prestigious and historic Guarneriana Library, and worldwide for the production of IGP raw ham.
