Podere Vecciale
Podere Vecciale, Cavriglia, Arezzo and Cortona
This well-restored farmhouse set in the Chianti hills overlooking the Arno Valley has much to offer a large group of family or friends. The flexible living space, sleeping eight in four bedrooms, means there’s enough room for teens or adults seeking a little more privacy. It’s a roomy and well-appointed villa yet still comfortable, helped by the warm rustic Tuscan features from brickwork arches to exposed stone walls, characterful beams and terracotta tiles. But the grounds are the gift that keep on giving, with so much outdoor space packed with trees, shrubs and brightly coloured potted plants. A generous tiled terrace overlooking the grounds to the olive grove and the valley beneath is furnished with sun beds, a sofa and two armchairs. A pergola to one side of the villa has a table with chairs and a barbecue for dining al fresco, creating comfort in the shade. Sun-worshippers will love the large private pool reached via steps and set overlooking the hills in the distance, with a few trees for shade if the sun gets too hot. The small village of Montegonzi isn’t far, with a restaurant and grocery store on hand. For more active days, the well-known local towns, such as Gaiole and Montevarchi, or cities such as Arezzo, Siena or Florence are easily reached. Ground Floor Lounge 2 sofa, stairs to first floor. Our Thoughts Thoughtfully designed grounds include spots for enjoying the views of the grounds and over the valley to the mountains while you bliss out and do nothing. Meanwhile a table tennis table under a loggia puts the fun into burning off all that delicious pasta, as well as a break from the sun. The upside-down design of this property means you enter on the first floor and descend to two bedrooms and a lounge on the ground floor. Notes Four bedrooms – one double can be set up as twins if requested when booking. Four bathrooms, two en-suite. The property is fenced and secure for pets. Heating is included and is available between 15 October and 15 April each year. A small welcome pack is provided for guests on arrival.
