Home to a flying football team, a great promenade and the Marine Hall with its perfectly manicured gardens and boating lake, Fleetwood might be off the beaten track for travellers but it has gained a reputation for its uniqueness and laid-back way of life. Central to the port is Lord Street where you will find these one-bed apartments which come with a lovely view of St Peter’s Parish Church at the north end of the street and its central location means you aren’t far away from all the local attractions and restaurants and bars. In Fleetwood town centre there are chemists and supermarkets, along with butchers and bakeries. Like most town centres there are places to eat, hairdressers and nail bars. It’s a handy place too, with shops like dry cleaners and electrical suppliers. There’s pedestrian access to the large nearby Asda supermarket from Lord Street. Fleetwood town centre is quite good on the conveniences in life too. There’s free on-street parking all along Lord Street so if you want to pick something up in a hurry you can just park, shop and go. There are plenty of cafes in Fleetwood where you can have a full meal, snack or just a coffee. Of course, with a strong fishing heritage, it’s also somewhere to buy the best seaside fish and chips, with a number of award winning fish and chip shops. Fleetwood Market is a popular spot with locals and visitors. Coach trips visit each week and local people enjoy the range of goods on offer. Buy just about anything here, from fancy goods, clothes and handbags, through to sweets, ironmongery and vegetables. The Blackpool to Fleetwood tramway runs along North Albert Street and Lord Street to Fisherman’s Walk. As the name suggests, the line extends through Cleveleys, along Blackpool seafront to its southernmost point at Squires Gate. On selected dates, you will also be able to see, and ride on, the old Heritage Trams in Fleetwood. They operate during events and at peak holiday times. No visit to Fleetwood would be complete without a trip to Affinity Lancashire. It’s the shopping outlet just off the town centre – it used to be called Freeport Fleetwood. As it’s mainly a factory outlet place, you’ll find big brands at discounted prices. There’s also plenty of cafes and eateries here with a kid’s play park and a nice walk around the marina at Fleetwood.
