Aquila Retreat is following industry and government guidelines as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. Our commitment to you is to ensure that every possible safety measure is in place to protect you and your groups health. We want to minimise the risks so that you can enjoying every moment of your stay in our comfortable and luxurious environment. Our staff have received COVIDsafe training and continue to receive regular COVID up-dates. We have in place stringent cleaning and disinfecting protocols as well as a comprehensive Tourism and Accommodation COVIDsafe management plan. Events held at Aquila Retreat are held under a COVIDsafe event checklist and for weddings, these are held under the Wedding Industry COVIDsafe Plan. At Aquila, you can be social and be safe. Please provide notification in advance that you would like this service so that rates can be provided. Cleaning staff are hired at $30AUD per hour. All of these activities can be arranged prior to your stay using the information found in our online guides and recommended suppliers lists found on our website at Aquila Retreat with a com and an au 3 Kitchens include: 1) Our main kitchen is well equipped with an entire wall of brand new digital controlled Skope catering fridges, huge walk-in pantry, 2 dishwashers and a stunning bifold opening servery to the rainforest. Guests have a choice of gas or induction cooking with multiple ovens on offer, including a steam oven. 2) Outdoor BBQ kitchen with mega V10 Tucker BBQ, under counter drinks fridges and a large commercial ice-making unit! 3) Our wine and washing Kitchen located downstairs is equipped with a Gaggenau wine fridge, 2 front-loading Miele washers and 2 Miele front-loading dryers for guest use, another large gas oven, another dishwasher, another fridge and an island at which to enjoy a glass of wine while you fold your washing, or not as the case may be - your on holidays! Cleaning protocols & fees To protect you from Covid-19 an ozone activated pre-clean is completed ahead of every guest/group's arrival. The health of our staff is monitored daily. Please know it takes 44 hours to clean just the interior of Aquila Retreat after a guest has checked out, this includes checks on our stringent cleaning and disinfecting protocols. 44 hours is taken IF guests have been kind enough to wash their dishes, unpack dishes into cupboards, empty bins and leave the property generally very tidy, if not it may be longer. 44 x $25-30 per hour = $1320 Linen hire and 90-degree hygiene washing for 30 beds worth of linen, plus shower towels, hand towels, face washers, bathmats and pool towels (110 total towelling products are used per stay) = $417 Ancillaries provided include eco-luxe hand wash, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, for guest use in each of our 9 ensuites and 2 guest WC facilities = $160 42 rolls of finest grade eco-luxe toilet paper are installed per group stay = $62 Coffee Pods, dry pantry items, paper towel, eco-cleaning liquids, eco-luxe candles, crystal usage, sun cream, sanitiser, and the list goes on = $150 Landscaping, pool clean, drive washing, hot tub clean, outdoor area clean, cottage workshop studio clean, yoga shall clean = 22 hours x $25 per hour = $550 Plant installations ahead of each guest stay = $75 Total Cleaning Linen & Ancillaries cost to Aquila group guests per stay is $2734 We charge our guest a cleaning, linen and ancillary charge of just $1450. Aquila absorbs the difference of approximately $1284. Aquila’s Eco & Spiritual Credentials Aquila Retreat was architecturally designed to align with the sun, the moon and the stars, on a site that was chosen by a Geomancer for its ‘spirit of place’ and its ‘environmental equilibrium’. The name Aquila is Latin for ‘Eagle’ and chosen as the home has been specifically aligned with the Aquila/Eagle star constellation. The Aquila mansion is constructed of all-natural materials in a circular formation so as to contain and circulate the homes abundant spiritual and environmental energy. Built-in 2001, Aquila Retreat was the first property in Queensland to be awarded five green stars for its eco-friendly construction. In 2019 Aquila was fully renovated by its new owners, award-winning international interior designer Heidi and her husband Kim. Heidi and Kim are passionate about sustainability, they have continued the use of low VOC paints and eco-materials. They are committed to ensuring that Aquila Retreat continues to operate with a 5-star green ethos. Guests are encouraged to regard and to support this ethos too. Some of our Eco Credentials: ✦Electricity is stored by battery & usage is kept to a minimum ✦All lighting is low voltage ✦ Aquila's hot tub and all hot water is heated using clean energy - gas. ✦Aquila’s swimming pool is chlorine-free. We use a swiss technology ionising device to keep the pool sparkling clean! ✦Cleaning staff are trained to use Enjo clothes and natural disinfectants such as tea tree and eucalyptus instead of chemicals. ✦Harvested Rainwater is filtered and used where-ever possible ✦We compost, bottle bank and recycle. Our bin bags are made from sugar cane. ✦We don’t use pesticides in our gardens ✦We encourage guests to use more breeze and less Air Con where possible ✦ Non-polluting, eco-luxe toiletries are provided for each guest ✦Aquila uses a luxurious super-soft 100% recycled toilet paper, - wait till you try it!
