The Alkifron Hotel was built and curated with the personal care of the Papoutsi Family. So what we wanted was to find a name that matched the character of the "house". We wanted a name as unusual as our hotel. Too many opinions and ideas. Alciphron was an erotic poet, sophist and letter writer. Everyone knows the big names that the ancient Greek literature bequeathed to us (plato, Thucydides, Sophocles). Near them, however, there is a plethora of smaller ones. One of them is Alciphron, who lived shortly before the theocratic hand of Emperor Theodosius to bury the ancient spirit permanently (3rd century Ad). Alciphron dealt mainly with correspondence, a species beloved by the ancient Greeks.
