During warm weather relax on the screened-in porch which looks onto the pond is backdropped by woods. Largest county in West Virginia with the least population. There is fishing, biking, hunting, birding, swimming, hiking, skiing or absolutely NOTHING, just SILENCE. The owners live on the property, but white pine and a long drive allow for plenty of privacy. Hillsboro, WV is the birthplace of Nobel and Pulitzer prize winner Pearl S. Buck. Her house is a museum and is open to the public from May to November. Forty-five minutes south is historic Lewisburg in Greenbrier County with shops, antique dealers, restaurants and theaters, 2 acre pond/fishing rods/worms Canoe 2 Golf courses (including The Greenbrier) Greenbrier River (canoeing, kayaking, hiking) Outdoor swimming pool @Watoga State Park Snowshoe Mountain (Skiing, sailing, biking,swimming, restaurants) National Park Monongahela Cordially. We have had quests who come and never leave the cabin because it is so comfortable and quiet. Others are away all day antiquing, hiking, kayaking, shopping or enjoying local town festivals.
