Cosy thatched cottage minutes from the sea, nestled in gentle rural countryside
PLEASE NOTE - 1 The Administrative Fee shown in the costs breakdown is what we (as owners) pay our wonderful housekeeper Kelly with each and every confirmed booking; it is for managing all the details of your reservation, keeping the availability calendar up to date, sending out driving instructions, answering any questions or queries, and resolving any problems which might occur during your stay. PLEASE NOTE - 2 The change-over day for weekly bookings is FRIDAY. PLEASE NOTE - 3 Unfortunately, this website is incapable of showing accurate prices for 2, 3, 4, and 5 night breaks (when available), so if you wish to enquire about short breaks, just send us a booking enquiry, and we will provide you with a COMPLETELY ACCURATE quotation for you booking. Thank you! Now read on for the good bits... Nestling in the rolling South Dorset Downs and within the natural beauty of Hardy country, Winfrith Newburgh is a quiet conservation village complete with medieval church and manor house, and is only 3 miles from the 'Jurassic Coast' - designated as England's first natural World Heritage Site - with its spectacular scenic wonders of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. They are a short five minute drive away, or even within walking distance for the more adventurous. To the North lie the famous cottage and birthplace of novelist Thomas Hardy at Higher Bockhampton, 18th century Milton Abbey, and Milton Abbas. Other places of interest include Abbotsbury Swannery, the magnificent Maiden Castle just outside Dorchester, one of the largest collections of army fighting vehicles in the world at Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, Corfe Castle, and the natural wonder of the Blue Pool near Wareham. Sorry to disappoint dog owners, but regrettably no pets allowed.
