The kitchen was well equiped with everything we needed. We had an issue with the toilet flush on the 2nd day and weren't able to fix it during our stay. Its not representative of the fittings in the house which were all working, and the BBQ was brand new! Its was easily resolved and we think a) the storm may have disconnected the flow of water from the stream or b) the tap in the pump shed (clearly labelled) which controls the water from spring to the header tank was turned off. Had a "bachy" feeling but that enhances its charm and suited us fine.. Plenty of natural wildlife such as resident wekas and ducks, as well as oystercatchers as the tide receded. Plenty to do and see in the local area. Nice coffee at Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat. We loved the bach and its location.. Clean and upgraded kitchen and bathroom and nice interior throughout. Lovely location. The beach is tidal. Gorgeous view from the house which is sunny and cosy warm. Close to Sandy bay, Little Sandy bay and Stony bay. I wish we could have stayed longer. Tweets Retreat is situated across the road from the estuary end of the beach, and there's great bird life, white baiting (in season) etc. Great swimming, surfing and diving in the area.... fabulous place to use as a base. The bach is very typical of a 1960s style and so there are mesh fly/mossie screens in the three bedrooms.
