Beautiful 19th century (1801) stone built house, in situ on the outskirts of the festival town of Tolmin (2.2km to Tolmin). You can walk to the beach area, along the banks of the Soca River, in 15 minutes (1.2km). The house is ideally located for outdoor summer and water activities, as well as for the festivals, such as reggae, heavy metal, punk rock, . Casa di Volce is a beautiful large (300m2 of living space) Slovenian house. The house is central for the main Soca Valley town of Tolmin, which is less than 2.5 km, where you will find amenities typical of a large Slovenian town, restaurants, shops, supermarkets etc. The bus stop is almost opposite the house, and runs hourly during the day into the town. The water activities, run by the Maya Sports company - is just 1.2km - walking on a lovely country road, where you will also find a little seasonal restaurant (Labrca) as well as picnic area and park beside the river. with Rafting, Mini Rafting, About the house.. A traditional 19th century (1801) stone built house, with large entrance through double doors, leading off to the kitchen (with log burner), dining area, lounge (with log burner), downstairs family bathroom/utility room, as well as chill out room with TV. Ground floor, large lobby entrance. Lounging area with seating for up to 12 people - 3 * 4 seater large sofas. TV and DVD player (works via the internet only). Large kitchen with two ovens, one a wood fired stove with hob, and a further gas hob. Second lounging area/chill out area with seating for 3 and another TV - works via internet. Dining room with large dining table with seating for 12, and small table for 4 people Utility room and bathroom First floor.. The Masters Lodger Largest bedroom with kingsize bed and full size cot. 3 large windows with mountain views. The Roof Tops Triple bedrooms, with 2 large windows viewing over the courtyard and the roof tops. Mountain View Smallest of the first floor bedrooms, with 2 single beds and one large window with mountain views. 2 * large shower rooms, long landing with pellet burner, with patio door at one end, leading off to the balcony. Attic Level The Family Quarters 2 & connecting bedrooms, great for the family. Each room with 2 single beds, exposed original stone walls, roof lights and floor level windows. The Chimney Top This room is a double bedroom, with the exposed stone chimney breast, roof lights and again floor level windows. The Cosy Nook Another double bedroom with exposed stone walls, roof light and floor level windows. Attic bathroom Lovely roll top bath, and double vanity unit - low level ceiling exposed beams and floor level windows The house is central for those outdoor activities and makes it ideal for larger groups, such as scouts, brownies and cubs. Outside, small courtyard, where you can have a BBQ. Picnic table and benches with seating for 8/10 persons. There is also bistro style seating on the balcony which you can easily move around. (*NOTE THE HOT TUB IS NO LONGER HERE*). The drive is shared, you can park for free in the pizzeria car park opposite. About the area & distances Tolmin - less than 3km; Attractions in Tolmin centre is 5 minutes bus ride (bus stop opposite the house and runs throughout the day), or hire bikes and it will take you just a few minutes (bike hire also in Tolmin). Italy - Fruili region - less than 25km Soca Valley - Water Sports - 1.2 km Large supermarkets - Merkator and ALDI (Hofer) is 2.4km (5 minutes ride on the bus, which runs frequently throughout the day, and bus stop is opposite the house). Small supermarket - Merkator - 2/3 minutes walk from the house Pizzeria / Grill and Pub - 100m from the house - 2 mins walk. Labrca restaurant (next to the beautiful Soca River) - 1.4km - Seasonal usually May to October - fantastic picturesque walk through the countryside. A couple bars and restaurants (close to the large supermarkets - 2.4km, and on the 5 minutes ride on the bus route. Airports Trieste Italy - 69 km (1 hour) Klagenfurt Austria- 134 km (under 2 hours) Venice Italy - 170km (2 hours 20 mins ) Ljubljana Airport - 85km (2 hours) Things to note: You are in the middle of the valley, surrounded by mountains and forests, as well as rivers, you should therefore expect many insects, including wasps, and scorpions present when it is warm and humid, not forgetting numerous spider webs all the time! Tourist tax is payable at 2 euros per per person per night in addition, and subject to change (2019 rate). During the very busy months of June, July and August, the road outside the house is a lot busier, so you will hear a lot more traffic in the mornings, outside these months, it is very quiet. You must recycle your rubbish (no rubbish collection) by taking your plastics/glass/cardboard/food waste to the recycling bins which you can walk to. We are not charging you for cleaning, and we expect you to leave the house as you found it (less the soiled laundry ). Please place all used bedlinen in the bath next to the washing machine, so we know what has been used - thank you. As a consequence of Covid, we no longer supply towels due to the extra high temperatures and length of time we are having to spend washing all bed linen. However, if you are unable to bring you own, we can arrange for the supply of towels at an additional cost of 20 euros per person (Bath and hand towel). This must be booked in advance via this website. The drive is shared with the neighbour, so please park your cars at the pizzeria opposite. There is outside seating. We will also leave a bottle of spray disinfectant when you arrive, and although we do this after cleaning, we recommend that one person from your party goes round and sprays all the obvious touch points, just as a double safety measure, including: Light switches, remote controls, door handles, taps, shower heads, toilet seats, work surfaces, plugs (whilst plugged in only), bedside lamps, wash machine buttons, external key safe, and does this multiple times throughout your stay.
