Easter Cottage has been refurbished to a high standard with close attention to detail and includes a new stylish kitchen and bathroom. Two comfortable bedrooms, one with king size bed and one with twin singles with fluffy white towels and white cotton sheets provided. Standing 700 feet above sea level, Shaftesbury has outstanding views over the Blackmore Vale and three of the Wessex counties – Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. The famous Gold Hill brings tourist from all around the world to our beautiful market town and was the inspiration for Thomas Hardy’s ‘Shaston’ Gold Hill was the scene of Ridley Scott’s 1973 Hovis advert and numerous films such as the 1967 version of Far From the Madding Crowd. Accessible by train in 2 hours from London Waterloo to Gillingham (Dorset not Kent!), which is only a 4-mile taxi ride. With Bristol airport only 1.5 hours drive and Bournemouth airport 1 hour drive Shaftesbury is a great base to explore the Jurassic Coast and many National Trust & English Heritage properties and historic towns in the West Country.
