Summary: This is a fabulous Tuscan villa sleeping between 15 and 20 people, with 11 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. Set on a hillside overlooking the River Pesa valley, it is just 15 minutes from Florence and has great views. There is a stunning swimming pool. The Space: Originally a Medieval feudal castle, the property was converted to a villa between 1450 and 1500. As you would expect, it is steeped in history and is a fascinating place to spend a holiday in this wonderful part of Tuscany. The property is divided into two main sections - The Conventino and Torre - with a large central hall between the two. Within the Conventino, there is a master bedroom suite with both living area and ensuite bathrooms. In addition, there are 5 further double bedrooms and 2 single bedrooms in this part of the property. Three of the double bedrooms also have their own ensuite bathrooms whilst the remaining bedrooms share 2 bathrooms between them. There is a small living room in this part of the villa. Across in the Torre, there is an entrance hall, dining room with wonderful fireplace, kitchen, utility room, large living area and loggia facing the swimming pool. There is also a second master bedroom suite with private bathroom as well as another double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. These two bedrooms share a living area. Please note that the property tends to stay cool inside. However, portable A/C units are installed in 8 of the bedrooms for guests that wish to use A/C. Please note that rental rates are for groups of up to 15 people. Additional guests are charged at 50 euros per person per day up to a maximum of 20 people. Cleaning can be provided at a charge of 15 euros per hour. Extra services can also be provided including the preparation of breakfast or lunch (70 euros), preparation of a 4 course meal (200 euros), a waitress service and ironing service. Utilities are included in the price (water, gas, electricity). Pool maintenance, linen change, towels and final cleaning are also included. Guest Access: Guests have the sole use of the property. The Neighborhood: Guests are ideally placed to explore the wider Tuscan region, just 18 km from Florence, 60 km from Siena. The nearest village is Bargino which is just 2 kilometres away.The beach is 80km away and the nearest golf club just 20 km away. Getting Around: A car is essential. Other Things to Note: We think that this is a magical place to stay. Italy is filled with historic buildings but it's rare that guests are able to actually stay in one. This castle boasts enormous rooms with high ceilings and authentic furnishings in keeping with the age of the property making it a phenomenal space to mark a special occasion, be that a wedding, an anniversary or birthday.
