The White House at Brinsop is a grade II listed farmhouse dating from 15th century that retains many of its original features. The attached stone and timber framed former cider house has been sensitively converted into two charming self catering holiday cottages that combine traditional architecture with modern, comfortable accommodation. The properties are available individually or can be let together (see separate listing for The Cider Press). .Dee's Cottage which sleeps a maximum of 2 persons is accessed directly from the front garden. This bright and inviting ground floor stone cottage is conveniently arranged on one level, in an open-plan format to provide an inclusive feel. This quaint property is well equipped with flat screen TV/DVD player, games, books, and a wide selection of maps and DVDs if desired. It benefits from central heating, a compact handmade kitchen and a spacious modern shower room with provided toiletries. Fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton bedding are provided as standard. There are charming views of the Iron Age hill fort and pond to the rear, whilst beyond the lawn to the front, the distant Welsh hills provide the perfect setting for the evening sun. NB This property has low ceilings and is ideally suited to persons 6ft 2ins (1.88 metres) or under. Dee's Cottage has ground floor wheelchair access. Immediately outside the property there is an enclosed, lawned garden facing west, and then just behind the property is a patio that leads to the ancient fish pool. There is a separate outbuilding that is locked each night and walking or cycling equipment may be stored here. Situated along a quite lane in the beautiful Brinsop valley, the property overlooks the Iron Age hill fort of Credenhill to the east, and the Black Mountains to the west - yet is an easy two minute walk from the hourly bus service from mid Wales into Hereford. White House is surrounded by large and accessible grounds that incorporate lawned areas, a pony paddock and a medieval fishpond that extends to nearly an acre. Seats and benches are carefully placed around to take advantage of the views and they make the perfect place to appreciate and enjoy, water, wildlife and the odd glass of wine! The lanes and footpaths around are great for walking and cycling and Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, the Black Mountains, Leominster, the Black and White villages trail and Ludlow are all within easy reach.
