You will have the opportunity to visit the city of Carcassonne, 6 km away, an enchanting, exceptionally preserved site whose origins date back to the sixth century. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visiting the city walls is unforgettable. Rent a boat without a license in the port of Carcassonne or take the shady paths on the banks of the Canal du Midi on foot or by bike. In search of some freshness in this very sunny region, head to the 5 km long Lake of Cavayère, an 18 hectare stretch of water in a 40 hectare park between pine trees and scrub. Activities in the area: tree climbing, giant zip line across the lake, mini golf, sandy beaches, beach volleyball, pedal boats and inflatable slides await you. For beautiful walks, just north of Carcassonne, the village of Conques-sur-Orbiel blooms in a lush natural setting with four marked routes that go through the capitals, dry stone structures from the 19th century.
