La Grange French barn sleeps 8 with exclusive pool

Set in 19 acres of woodlands and pasture, this beautiful stone barn is a traditional Dordogne property and is large and comfortable enough for friends or family gatherings. As you step outside from the living-room / banqueting hall, outside there is a large terrace with BBQ facilities which faces onto the pool, perfect for al-fresco dining on a balmy evening. A breath-taking living room with huge fireplace and banquet dining table, a mezzanine lounge area with TV and card / board games table, a well-stocked gallery library, a large well-equipped farmhouse kitchen, antique furniture and a super-king ground floor bedroom all create a very special atmosphere in this fabulous barn conversion. There are beams galore and the super-king and double bedrooms have their own secluded terraces as a quiet retreat. The super-king and double bedroom are en suite, while the two twin bedrooms share a bathroom. A former Dordogne farm, Les Taloches sits on the edge of the pretty riverside village of Tourtoirac and is paradise for adults and children of all ages with 19 acres of wood and meadow to explore. Ideally located in an unspoilt area of the Dordogne, the property is close to the fairytale château of Hautefort, with plenty of cycling routes from the door (including the Lawrence of Arabia route which goes through the village). Gracing two sides of a large, lime-tree shaded courtyard are the oak-beamed farmhouse - La Châtaigne - and a huge stone barn - La Grange - now transformed into a superb house which are great for families and groups sleeping between 8 and 20 people (they can be hired individually or together). Both are self-contained for privacy - each has its own unusually large private pool, secluded garden and separate entrance drive. Secluding the houses are fields and orchard and, for the energetic, there is a big play area, a badminton court, table tennis, a games room and bikes. For children the massive sandpit and playhouse are a great attraction but the lovely rural location is also perfect for those who just want to relax in the sunshine. Tourtoirac village has a boulangerie, bar and restaurant just 500m away. We have our very own free range hens supplying guests with fresh eggs. For bookings of 7 nights or more, we provide a welcome hamper and bottle of local wine. We welcome babies and children at La Grange and can supply cots (with bedding), high chairs, stair-gates, a steriliser, baby monitor and a selection of toys. Please note we are unable to accept requests to accommodate more than the maximum number of people per house (unless babies under the age of 2) and facilities are for the sole use of guests staying at Les Taloches. We are unable to accept non-resident visitors. Outside of the main summer season (July & August), we are happy to cater for short breaks including weekends.
