This property has super fast wi-fi. The Space: The Townhouse has a wonderful double height ceiling, which gives it a very light and spacious feel. The Mezzanine Gallery with a comfortable seating area offers a truly peaceful escape. The stylishly furnished master bedroom with a large double bed with French doors open onto a Juliet balcony. Adjacent to the master bedroom is a tiled shower room with a heated towel rail. Downstairs is the main living area, comprising of a second twin bedroom and shower room. The contemporary open plan living area comprises a fully equipped modern kitchen (with dishware, pots and pans, and cooking utensils), a dining table and a comfortable sofa-bed. The owners have recently installed superfast wi-fi for those guests who wish to or have a necessity to operate remotely whilst on holiday. The garden and shaded terrace are furnished with a high quality rattan-dining suite – perfect for al fresco dining – and relaxing. It has access to a shared communal pool. The Neighborhood: KALKAN As a retreat from the rigours of modern life, Kalkan is little short of idyllic! Nestled around a sheltered natural harbour at the foot of the majestic Taurus Mountains, this unspoilt historic town overlooks a bay of breathtaking beauty. A thriving Greek fishing village called Kalamaki until the 1920s; Kalkan is now largely devoted to high-end tourism. Look out for Kalkan's charms in the compact old town including the picturesque harbour, shops, and various eateries including cafés, bars and fine dining restaurants. The town is well served by banks and supermarkets. There is a large Thursday market in town and a smaller local market in the neighbouring village of Akbel on a Sunday. The harbour area caters for all, including a small pebble beach, beach clubs (many of which can be reached by a frequent boat shuttle service); watersports clubs; and not forgetting the very popular past-time of a day at sea. If you wish to venture beyond Kalkan, a visit to Kas (20min drive) would be highly recommended or to Fethiye, which is very popular for shopping. LAVANTA The gated complex that is LaVanta is set within beautiful landscaped gardens overlooking Kalkan and the Mediterranean Sea on Turkey's Turquoise coast. It is a 4-minute drive (or an energetic 20 minute walk) to the centre of town. Its height above sea level means that it benefits from cooling breezes in the height of the summer. There is a large 25m communal infinity pool, plunge pool (for the kids), and a selection of sunloungers and parasols. Sat alongside the pool is the LaVanta Clubhouse which includes a café and bar offer throughout the day. It is unquestionably, the place to enjoy the magnificent hillside setting. The world-renowned Kaputas beach and Patara, with its Lycian ruins are both only a 10-minute drive away. Getting Around: You can access the town via the very reliable local taxi service. If you wish to venture further, the taxi service can take you to many of the popular tourist attractions.
