Trespontets, you are renting two self-contained holiday gites with a private swimming pool and large garden. Located between Bordeaux, Bergerac and Saint Emilion near the border of the Dordogne in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region of France. Maison de Tilleul and Maison du Peche are two self-contained, well-presented cottages all on ground-floor level set in their own large, mature garden which is perfect for relaxing and equally good for outdoor games with plenty of space for running around. You rent both holiday homes, all facilities are for your exclusive use during your stay. 4km to the picturesque village of Allemans du Dropt, sat on the River Dropt, with butchers, boulangerie, canoeing, and a friendly bar and restaurant. There is a 9 hole golf course within a 15-minute drive and many local walks, hikes and lakes for swimming. The historic town of Duras, with the famous Chateau Duras, is just 8km away, where you will also find a selection of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a weekly market on Monday mornings and popular night markets every Thursday in the peak summer months. The garden, which has a 40 ft Lime tree, is over two acres with well-kept lawns, shrubs, bushes, fruit trees and ample seating for relaxing lazy days and alfresco dining. It is equally good for outdoor games. Trespontets is surrounded by great eateries; Monteton (3.5km), where the views are stunning, has a bohemian music bar, a fine dining restaurant and a 12th-century church. From this viewpoint, you can see the 13 bell towers of nearby churches across the vista. There are also several places to eat nearby by Monsegur (15km), Duras (8km) and Marmande (21km). Trespontets consists of two self-contained properties, Maison de Tilleul and Maison du Peche, you are renting both properties. ----- Maison de Tilleul: All accommodation on the ground floor. Bedroom 1. A spacious, luxurious room is full of light with a Super King Size bed (180cm x 200cm). Electric shutters to the windows. Bedroom 2. Kitchen: The well-equipped kitchen is modern with a lovely country feel and views over the grounds. Bedroom 1. Double bedroom, spacious bedroom with double bed (140cm x 190cm) and built-in wardrobes Bedroom 2. Twin bedroom, bedroom with twin beds (90cm x 190cm each). A door opens onto the garden. The properties are situated on 2 acres of gardens with lots of lawn and mature trees, without any fence or border between the properties. Each property has its own separate driveway. Games room: Games room with table tennis and table football. Private catering, Gastronomic experiences and Vineyard tours: Tailor-made experiences at the house or maybe a picnic in the vineyard? English and French spoken. ----- Trespontets is situated near the village of Allemans du Dropt 4.2km, by the River Dropt, with horse riding, canoeing, camping and a friendly bar and restaurant. The towns of Monsegur (15km) and Duras (8km) in the region of Aquitaine within the Bordeaux wine region and on the borders of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne, France. Bordeaux city centre is a 100km drive to the west and Bergerac is 40km to the east, Saint Émilion 50km north. ----- Activities in the area, just a small selection below. Coast, Beach and Water park: A freshwater lake with a sandy beach at Blasimon is just 35km away and is a popular attraction to take children for a day out. The gently shelving sand provides a fun environment for splashing around and cooling off in the heat of the summer sun. Blasimon lake. Aqua Park is 40km located near Bergerac. Beach, canoeing and a water park. Aqua Fun Park near Casteljaloux is 47km. Park with a huge freshwater lake, picnic benches, walks, facilities, man-made sandy beach, water sports, kids play area…. great for adults and kids. Visit Europe’s largest sand dune 148km, the Dune du Pilat where both the climb and the views will take your breath away! Reward yourself by feasting on fresh seafood from the Bay of Arcachon or take the ferry to Cap Ferret and feel the sand between your toes whilst you enjoy oysters and chilled white wine. Chocolate: Yes, we believe chocolate is also an activity… we often have to visit and make sure the quality is up to standard so we can continue to recommend it. Maison Guinguet gourmet chocolate, 8km, just outside Duras, there is a lovely shop that also sells gifts and offers guided visits to their artisan factory in July and August. Duras Castle: The famous Chateau de Duras, 8km, is well worth a visit and if you can muster the energy to climb to the top and see the stunning 360-degree vista. Tea room with gardens: Jardin de Boissona has six little gardens, each with its own character. Outside and inside seating. Especially known for their teas and delicious cakes. 10km, Baleyssagues near Duras. Zip wire adventure and climbing park: Just 15km, Playground and snack bar. A complimentary supply of bed linen and bath towels will be provided for stays of 2 weeks or more. House heating by electric wall heaters. End of stay clean, although the house must be as you found it and left in a reasonable condition on departure.
