This beautiful wood cladded apartment consists of a comfortable living room with sofa bed and two double bunk beds, a practical kitchen with gas cooker, fridge and microwave, a bathroom and a large terrace which offers a stunning view of the mountains. The accommodation is ideal for 4 people but can it can sleep up to 6 because of the sofa bed. There is free parking by the building. Bed linen and towels can be provided on request, for a small extra charge. Multi-day rental, weekly, monthly or seasonal Check-in between 5pm and 7pm Check-out within 10am THE PLACE: Gressoney St. Jean is at 1,385 metres above sea level, it covers a vast plane full of flora and fauna and it is in a particularly beautiful area due to its view of impressive mountain massifs (second in height in Europe) and the Lyskamm glacier. It has a unique historic centre, where some of the perfectly preserved Walser houses are grouped together around the church of San Giovanni Battista. Built in 1725 on a previous building dating from 1515, this church has an over-leaning roof and a beautiful bell-tower from the sixteenth century which opens with a mullioned window and it is crowned by a spire. The parish museum has a large crucifix that dates back to the XIII century, among the oldest relics in Valle d’Aosta. There is a picturesque lake just outside the town centre which waters are of a beautiful emerald green and reflect the surrounding majestic summits. Immersed in the greenery of the woodland, in a panoramic locality called “Belvedere”, you will find Castel Savoia, built during the reign of Queen Margherita in 1894 as her residence on her frequent holidays. The typical dress is a symbol of the oldest traditions, strongly rooted and traceable to the Walser culture, particularly the women’s costumes. These are strictly black and white, with a white blouse adorned with ornate lace and decorated by a rich cuff in gold filigree. SPORTS: The winter sports infrastructures permit off-track and Nordic skiing, in a natural, very picturesque environment. The ski lift complexes serve the off-track pistes that cover over 13 kilometres. There is also an interesting cross-country piste that covers 25 kilometres. It goes through woodland and has magnificent views over the glaciers. The International Nordic skiing competition called “Monterosalauf” (over a 25 kilometre route), takes place here every January. A golf course, swimming pool, sport centre, cinemas and restaurants can be reached within a 10 minutes walk from the flat You will be able to enjoy walking or climbing in the beautiful green or white environment in all seasons.
