House of Petri Traditional Small Village House.
House of Petri self contained village house
House of Petri self contained village house. The House of Petri has lived in this ancient village in the Cyprus mountains for nearly 200 years. Passed down through the generations, it has only recently for the first time housed some of our modern day conveniences. It has a light airy feel, a high beamed ceiling, with a state of the art silent fan. A comfortable house, small, but with everything you need. With a new, clean, bright shower room and a front courtyard giving you the option of dining al fresco as you watch village life pass by. The property is in the village of Agios Georgios Agathiotis., in the Limassol region near Silikou. It’s a one storey stone house, carefully restored and beautifully decorated. within the space there is a kitchen, a fridge, hob, washing machine and microwave. The shower room extends towards the front. Two single beds on castors provide modular living, as one is a sofa by day with large cushions and can be a bed positioned where ever you would like it in the room. The fan is remote control and keeps you cool silently. WIFI is available from the café bar across the road, go and have a coffee there and sample some local beverages :) Neighbourhood overview This is an unspoilt historic village with two churches and picturesque stone paved streets, within the mountains. Limassol beach is 20 mins drive. Artistic village of Lania is nearby to the village, where cafes and open artists' houses are well worth a visit. There are plenty of places to visit nearby, including Paphos, the birthplace of Aphrodite, the temple of Apollo at Kourion, and numerous world heritage churches and monasteries, which are all easily accessible in under an hour’s drive. For many people, the Troodos Mountains are the main draw, laced with various and often pretty testing trekking routes. Search for waterfalls along the Caledonia Trail or perhaps just enjoy a few of the local nature trails, before heading to the coast for quiet blue flag beaches and seaside towns, such as Limassol. http://www.agiosgeorgiossylikou.org/en/natural-environment-len https://www.cyprusalive.com/en/village/limassol-agios-georgios Getting around There are plenty of country walking routes. There is a bus that stops in the village. Tucked away in the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus, this holiday accommodation is a beautiful 200 year old property sitting within one of the oldest wine growing communities in Cyprus. Perfectly positioned for anyone looking to relax, hike in the mountains and experience this quiet corner of Cyprus. Just half an hour from the coast and half an hour to the top of the mountain. House manual The village has its own internet Wi-Fi that is free, sometimes you can access it from the house but sometimes you have to go to the gate. Also I have spoken to the coffee bar across the road and they will give you their password no problem. The Hot Water should be permanently on, the switch for this is on the left as you come in the front door. Everything should be on and ready for you, the key will be in the orange key safe just outside the front door in the electric cupboard, I will give you the code once payment has been received along with directions and local info. Many Thanks Panayiotis.
