Allambi, tranquil unspoilt escape on Port Stephens
Allambi - Tranquil, unspoilt escape PET FRIENDLY ON REQUEST
Located on the northern shores of Port Stephens, and only 4 kms from the Pacific Hwy, Carrington (a few kilometres away from North Arm Cove) is an historic, rural village. With only 13 homes in the village, life is like it was years ago, when everything was slower and more peaceful and where childhood memories are made. Activities include fishing, dolphin watching, swimming, kayaking, bushwalking, tennis, birdwatching, tennis, and golf. Allambi is an historic rambling weatherboard home, built in 1908. It sits opposite the stunning waterways of Port Stephens. The views of the sunsets over the water are simply divine. The home has just been sympathetically renovated into a comfortable, relaxing 4 bedroom home. Sitting on 1/2 acre of land, the garden around the house is fully fenced and safe for your children to play in. We are pet friendly, so keeping your dog contained is easy. There is also plenty of room to park your boat and trailer on the level grounds of Allambi. Locals launch their small boats and tinnies just over the road at the (unofficial) boat ramp. Whilst there are no shops in the village, Tea Gardens is about 10 minutes drive away. As well as Coles (who will home deliver), a butcher and baker, there are restaurants, coffee shops and a pub. There is also a local service station 5 mins drive away for any last minute needs. Hawks Nest is 15 minutes drive and has stunning surf beaches, as well as restaurants, an IGA supermarket and take-away food shops. If you're lucky, you will see koalas on the drive there. Allambi has stunning water views from the kitchen, dining, lounge and main bedroom windows. Front and back verandas are ideal for relaxing and entertaining on. Sit on the front veranda and enjoy watching the stunning sunsets. Black swans regularly come close to shore and are a joy to watch. Dolphins regularly entertain us. A wide variety of birds visit the garden, including honeyeaters, willy wag tails, rosellas, kookaburras, pee wees and magpies. A family of wallabies bound through the side garden on most mornings. Our home comfortably sleeps 8 people. LINEN SUPPLIED. ( Please note the maximum number of people allowed is 8. We are on an older style septic system and it will not cope with more than 8 guests). 3 bedrooms, with a queen bed in each, and the fourth bedroom with 2 king singles. The rear bedroom (queen bed) is accessed externally from the covered veranda, so not suitable for smaller children (but ideal for teenagers!). There is a spacious bathroom, with a shower and bath. A separate toilet as well as a second toilet outside is accessed by a covered walkway from the rear veranda. The house is ideal for entertaining and cooking. Catch a mud crab, pick some herbs from the garden and cook up a storm in the kitchen, on the Weber BBQ, or on the outdoor charcoal rotisserie or on the fire pit. Mangoes, lemons, black figs, cherry guavas and bananas are plentiful in the garden. Great for snacking on after dinner! The renovated kitchen has a large gas cooktop and oven, and a dishwasher. There is also the original walk in pantry that is filled with basic supplies, which you are welcome to use on a replace as use basis. A pod coffee machine, toaster, microwave, stab blender, bread maker, pasta machine and professional cooks' knives are all available for you to use. We also have a comprehensive cookbook collection. Enjoy Tea Gardens relaxed feel and catch a ferry to Nelson Bay and enjoy the scenery on the way. Hawks Nest stunning surf beaches are only 15 minutes drive. There are many activities for you to enjoy outside the area. The Hunter Valley wineries are less than an hour's drive away. Myall Lakes National Park is a short drive and is filled with amazing vegetation and wildlife. The beaches along the way are some of the most beautiful on the Australian coastline.
