Welcome to Villa Candithea, a historical property, located in Maroulas village, close to Rethymno. The residence used to be a former olive oil factory, dating from the Venetian era, entirely restored under control of Greek Archaeological Department, and elevated to a high level of comfort and beauty to satisfy its customers, while maintaining its unique architectural elements, such as stone arches, vaults, tunnels, stone walls and wooden floors at the same time. Strolling through the narrow, cobble paved street of the village, you will reach Villa Candithea, 100 meters away from the village square and enter its beautiful stone paved terrace. This amazing property covers nearly 450 m² and spreads over two levels, comfortably accommodating 10 guests in its four bedrooms and up to 12 if necessary. Layout Ground Floor The main entrance opens up to an open-plan area that offers a subtle game of arches, lights and contemporary feel. At the wide ground floor guests can find: - Living area including cozy sofas and armchairs. - Large, indoor dining table, with seating for 12 people, next to an open fireplace. - Professionally, fully equipped kitchen with island counter for your homemade family meals. - A variety of entertainment facilities including 70’’ satellite TV with CD / DVD player, Netflix, sound system with wall mounted speakers and home cinema system. - Mezzanine with an office and printer that can be used as working space. - Separate recreation area with pool table and moroccan-type living room with rugs and pillows. - Wine cellar with 3 x 300 litres of Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, Grenache and Syrah wines. - Family bathroom with two toilets. First Floor - Bedroom 1: Super King size bed (1,80 X 2,00), desk, closet and en-suite bathroom with shower cabin. - Bedroom 2: Super King size bed (1,80 X 2,00), desk, closet, sitting area and en-suite bathroom with bathtub. These bedrooms have access to a spacious veranda equipped with patio furniture, enjoying amazing, panoramic views. - Bedroom 3: 2 single beds (0,90 X 2,00), 50’’ TV that can be used as a screen for electronic devices, desk, and closet. The bedroom enjoys beautiful sea views and also has a loft with a double bed (1,40 X 2,00), which can be used for kids, and an en-suite bathroom with shower cabin. - Bedroom 4: This bedroom features an en-suite bathroom with shower cabin, an open fireplace, a double sofa bed and a loft with a double bed (1,40 X 2,00). The room also offers access to a patio, where the laundry room is located, including a washing machine and a clothes dryer. These two bedrooms can communicate through a door if wanted, which is ideal for families. Outdoor Area The 400 m² exterior is also in harmony with the environment: you will enjoy the sun splashed terrace and admire the stunning, unobstructed views of Psiloritis mountains, the Aegean Sea, the village of Maroulas and the city of Rethymno.
