The region is especially known for its wine and extra virgin oil. So tasting the local flavours should definitely be included in the itinerary.   San Casciano, where the village is located, has a rich history going back to the medieval period. It is full of forts, parish churches and hamlets waiting to be explored. Some of the must-visit attractions are Giuliano Ghelli Museum (10 minutes), Collegiate Church and Church of Mercy, Castello il Palagio (8 minutes), castles of Bibbione, (built before the year 1000), Pergolato and Gabbiano and many more such historical and cultural monuments that have remarkable architecture distinct to their period.   For day trips, guests can consider Florence (34 minutes), Tuscany (31 minutes), Siena (1 hour 8 minutes) and other such interesting and popular destinations.   As for amenities, restaurants, shops and the supermarket is within walking distance.
