CHILD SAFETY - There are stair gates at the top and the bottom of the internal staircase. All of the doors leading to the balcony are lockable. There is safety netting on the upstairs landing. LOCAL MARKETS-One of the great pleasures of visiting France is to enjoy wandering through a traditional French market selling wonderful local produce . Here in the Dordogne it is possible to visit a market every day of the week - remember most are finished by lunch time so don't leave it too late. PRE-HISTORIC DORDOGNE-The Vezere valley is known as cradle of European civilization with more than 50 caves and rock shelters, traces of settlement, burial places have been discovered in the region. Fifteen of these sites are so important they have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites; including the famous Lascaux cave at Montignac.
