Historic apt. with easy access Rome

Located in the 'centro storico' of the historically important town of Bracciano & adjacent to the 14th Century Castle Odelscalchi, the charming spacious 120 sq metre 'Casa la Castellana' occupies the entire floor of a small 14th Century building and has a private entrance onto a small, quiet piazza. We would like you to think of our apartment as your home away from home rather than a rental property. Our heart went into the restoration of our apartment. It features a large living-dining room with antique stone fireplace, beamed ceilings, and terracotta tiles, a dining table which seats 8 and a fully equipped blue/white tiled country kitchen. Each of two bedrooms has two twin beds and a view of the village below. There are two sofa beds in the living room. From the apartment street door can be viewed the castle tower and the Duomo of Saint Steven. It's just 150 meters from the apartment down a short street to the main castle square with its shops and restauraants of all kinds. A colourful country market takes place on Wednesdays in the town centre. Swimming & windsurfing on Lake Bracciano are a 20 minute walk away through the woods, and horseback riding, golfing, biking, & hiking in the countryside are close at hand (forest of Manziana 10 minutes by car). Bracciano is an authentic, a very Italian town of historical importance in a beautiful country surrounding with the lake at the bottom of the hill and Rome at 'a stone's throw' so to speak. What could be more wonderful. It is not an overrun tourist resort. The town atmosphere is unrushed, the townsfolk pause to chat on street corners, the local craftmen take pride in their work, the farmers bring their produce into the open air market under the castle moat, the shopkeepers know their customers on a first-name basis. Bracciao has a healthy idyllic environment. The air is not polluted, the parking is not desperate. The bell inthe church tower marks the quarter hour. But when it's big city action you seek, Rome (St Peters) is just down the track 55 minutes away by convenient commuter train which runs every 30 minutes.
