Located right on the leafy south side edge of Glasgow only 15 minutes drive to Glasgow City Centre. Fieldside stands alone and is ideally situated in the prestigious, much sought-after residential suburb of Newton Mearns in the area known as Malletsheugh. 2 minute drive from “The Avenue Shopping Centre” which offers Asda Supermarket, Marks & Spencer and a good variety of other shops as well as Banks, Restaurants and Coffee Houses. Of local interest is the lovely Rouken Glen Park with its Pond, Waterfall and River Glen Walks and fantastic Children's Playground. Well worth a visit is The National Trust’s “Greenbank Garden”. In less than 2 minutes you can hop on to the M77 and the larger Silverburn Shopping Centre with Cinema Complex is a mere 5 minute drive and the convenience of the vibrant, bustling City Centre of Glasgow is only a 15 minute drive away. In 10 minutes you can visit “The Museum of Rural Life or Calderglen Park with its small Zoo and Conservatory in East Kilbride (via A726). The M77 can also take you to the “Burrell Collection Museum” & “Pollok House” in Pollok Country Park as well as link you to both the M8 and M74. Going in the other direction, in 30-40 minutes on the M77 you can enjoy the sea breeze on Scotland’s West Coast and perhaps pay a visit to The Robert Burns Heritage Centre in Ayr or drive on a little further to visit Culzean Castle. You might even consider getting up early one day to spend the day on the Island of Arran (known as “Scotland in Miniature” take the ferry boat from Ardrossan). Fieldside Cottage is in an ideal location for being able to travel in virtually any direction and experience the huge diversity of Scotland….Without too much travelling!
