Property is in a lovely picturesque canal side setting (Trent and Mersey canal) with lots of country/canal side walks on the doorstep. Lounge balcony with table and chairs overlooking the canal. One of the bedrooms looks at the rolling local countryside hills known as the Common Plot (or aka Mudley Pits) with many fine tree specimens. The property is also very close to the Downs Banks (2 miles) which also has many fine walks . Many attractions close by, Alton Towers (15 miles), Cannock Chase (10 miles), Trentham Monkey Trail (4 miles), Trentham Park and Gardens and Shrugborough Hall (10 miles) and of course the pottery giants such as Wedgewoods (4 miles), who's ancestral estate and factory shop is also not far away, for fine china lovers. Close to the Cheshire and Shropshire borders. The Staffordshire Moorlands and Peak district is also not far away and makes a nice day trip, particularly to Ashbourne, Ilam (25 miles) which is in the magnificent scenery of the Manifold valley with its Saxon roots and Swiss style cottages. Also try out an excellent spa day at the spa facilities and gym at Moddershall Oaks.3 excellent golf courses all within local vicinity, one within walking distance. Lovely part of the country with excellent walks. Stone itself is a pretty little market town with Morrisons and the Co-op for self-catering needs and a wealth of excellent local restaurants, all within walking distance of the property for a nice evening out. A train station is also within a brief walking distance. Market held in the town centre with excellent local produce and delicacies. An area rich in history and folklore. Once the centre of Mercia, an ancient kingdom established in AD 665. Check out Wikipedia for an overview of Stone and some of its local history.
