St. Helen's House with Minster views
St Helen’s house offers three large double rooms (and a fourth bedroom can be set up on request), a kitchen diner and a traditional sitting room. Two ensuite bathrooms, a shower room and an additional toilet. You will find Stonegate house just off the St Helens square, where you will find the famous Betty’s tea room and Stonegate, a historical shopping street. From a modest entrance, you will be wonderfully surprised by the house within. While the original, multi-paned, Georgian windows at the front of the house, allows light into the rooms the windows at the back of the house frame the views of York Minster and the communal courtyard below. St Helen’s House has been bejewelled with antique furniture, complimenting the history of the house. The staircase up, leads you up to the sitting room, with views of the street below. With comfortable sofas and a 50"TV (with terrestrial channels through a skybox) To relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. This beautiful room has original panelling and fireplace, with electric coal fire to keep you cosy. The kitchen is superbly well equipped with everything you need to create a fabulous meal or dish up a takeaway and the large dining room with a beautiful oak table can seat up to 8 guests. On the next floor you will find bedroom One with a large king-sized sleigh bed, antique press wardrobe and a beautiful dressing table as well as views of the Minster from the French doors. This bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with a shower over the bath and complimentary toiletries and fluffy, white, hotel-style towels. Bedroom Two is also light and bright with views of the street below, an ensuite bathroom with a shower. The next landing is flooded with light from the skylight above. Where you will find the next family bathroom and third bedroom with another amazing view of the York Minster. There is no parking due to the house being in the city centre but we will recommend local car parks.
