The Squirrels is tucked away in a peaceful woodland setting on a private road off a small country lane within walking distance to open heath & woodland of the New Forest yet a short drive from the village. This pleasant detached cottage comfortably sleeps four adults and a child in 3 bedrooms and is the perfect base for those looking to explore the diverse landscapes of the New Forest National Park & the Coast. There is access into the forest from the house either via the lane or private road, The Squirrels was converted into a home in the 1950's from a stable block and has a sheltered south facing garden, surrounded by trees. A grey squirrel visits the garden and hear an owl among other wild life & the ponies occasionally wander past the house, but more often seen in the forest. The Idyllic village of Woodgreen has ponies and donkeys freely wandering around the village lanes and on The Green. There is a good local pub and an award winning community village shop and post office. As well as a number of other good pubs a short drive away in the surrounding villages. The riverside town of Fordingbridge lies just four miles away, with a choice of shops, pubs and restaurants, while Ringwood and Salisbury are also close by. Within a 35 minutes’ drive are the cities of Bournemouth and Southampton, each with something different to offer. Closer to the cottage there is a choice of woodland or open forest walks, cycling, golf, water sports and other outdoor activities. The property benefits from a fully enclosed south-facing, sunny woodland garden with garden furniture & is ideal for a BBQ. Car parking for two cars can be found to the side of the house. Dogs are welcome by arrangement.
