The "Antica Dimora Benanti", a typical Sicilian house rebuilt in the early 1900s, is located on the eastern side of the Etna volcano and welcomes you with a warm "welcome to Sicily". The house is situated between Taormina and Catania, in the territory of Milo, among fresh scents of cherry orchards, olive, chestnut and hazel groves. With a wonderful view on the Ionian Sea and the Mount Etna, it awaits you among the coolness of the high hill and the fresh scents of cherry and chestnut vegetation. The space for the guests The Antica Dimora Benanti is a two floors building and it is surrounded by two tipycal nineteenth-century sicilian cellars that delimit the wide courtyard facing east, protecting it in winter from the cold winds. It was completely renovated in 2014. The main apartment for the guests is located on the upper floor of the building with the terraces. All the spaces in the house, the driveway, the courtyard and the terraces are reserved for guests. From the living room, through its three large windows, you can enjoy the amazing panorama on the eastern flank of Etna, its summit, often crowned by the typical fumaroles, the chestnut woods on the sides of the steep walls of its narrow valleys; from the bedrooms the view stretches from Etna to Ionian Sea. The apartment has a spacious, comfortable and bright living room, two large double bedrooms and one single bedroom, a well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower. All the rooms are furnished with care and equipped with all comforts. There are also two terraces with a breathtaking view from the mount Etna to the Ionian Sea. The structure is equipped with: free internal parking, air conditioning / heating, TV, free Wi-Fi with internet connection, washing machine, iron, hairdryer, microwave oven, sheets, crockery, refrigerator, bath towels, bathroom courtesy set. It is also possible to add extra beds or cots for babies. Guests access The apartment and the adjong terraces are reserved exclusively to the guests (from 2 to 5 persons). They don't have to share anything, all the apartment is for them. The entire apartment consists of three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. A wide avenue, surrounded by fir trees, allows the access to the property, and a cozy parking. The structure, no far from the road, is surrounded by a large cherry orchard and an olive grove. Interactions host – guests Guests will be personally received by the owner upon check-in. At the same time the host will show the structure and where to find everything you need for the guest comfort. Information on places, restaurants, locations and events in the area will also be provided upon request. Sites to view The Antica Dimora Benanti welcomes and involves its guests in the typical Sicilian environment of this land of sun and sea, characterized by the lush greenery of the Mediterranean vegetation and the deep black of the lavas, by the crystalline shimmer of its waters and the intense aromas of its early spring, by the red and orange shades of its deciduous leaves in its late autumn. It is situated in a strategic position to visit the most fascinating places of the eastern part of this beautiful island: the formidable "Mongibello" -the name with which Etna is called- is its background and the short distance allows to do exciting excursions along its paths or to reach easily the ski resorts of Nicolosi (Rifugio Sapienza -Etna Sud) and Linguaglossa (Piano Provenzana - Etna Nord); Acireale, a typical baroque city is in the immediate vicinity to amaze you with its churches, its palaces and its frescoes; the ancient Catania with its millenary history that traces its origins back to the Greeks and Romans, its Greek and Roman theaters and its huge Roman amphitheater, partly buried by millennial lavas, the city of Emperor Frederick II of Swabia, in which he built a castle, his proud and bold baroque that adorns the buildings erected with tenacious force in the early 700s, with a very lively nightlife that keeps her awake 365 days per year; Taormina, the Pearl of the Ionian Sea, perched on Mount Tauro, with its Greek-Roman theater, with its coves, bays and beaches; Syracuse, for its ancient Greek domination; Noto for its splendid opulent baroque style of stone monsters, plants and flowers; Ragusa and Ibla, priceless jewels of the Baroque in its most specific Sicilian style; Modica for the beautiful baroque shapes carved in stone. Let yourself be carried away by this splendid island, let seduce your senses by the overflowing opulence of Nature and by its fascinating works of art conceived by genius and worked by human hands. Let that the emotion rises from your heart, and let you exclaim, as the great Wolfgang Goethe said during his journey in Italy, when he visited Sicily: «Italien ohne Sizilien macht gar kein Bild in der Seele: hier ist erst der Schlüssel zu allem.» ("Italy without Sicily leaves no image in the spirit. Here is the key to everything. ")
