Ding Dong
Cosy character cottage with wood burning stove, sleeps 5 + baby/toddler.
"Ding Dong" is a lovely cosy cottage with 3 inter-connecting bedrooms. It is great for winter as well as for summer as it has a wood burning stove. Wood is available from the Spar round the corner choose to have a fire. It is a Grade II listed building, full of character with lovely beams (and low ceilings, mind your head!) and all the amenities you need. Please note: The cottage does not have its own parking space but parking is available on the other side of the road and a little further up the road. Please try and avoid parking in front of the gates over the road so as not to block the neighbour’s entrance. Please be aware that the staircases are steep and narrow as might be expected in a 200 year old cottage like this one; bear in mind this may not be suitable for those with mobility problems. We have a TV and DVD player as well as a washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer, and double oven. We have wifi and BT TV including BT sport. We have recently installed new taps and lights downstairs. There is a separate dining room and the bathroom is downstairs at the end of the kitchen; it has a good powerful shower. Upstairs you have a good sized double room, a cosy twin room at the top of the cottage and a single room next to the main bedroom. The rooms do interconnect, you go up to the first floor to the double room, which leads to the single room, and stairs then go from the double up to the twin at the top. There is a safety gate installed at the top of the stairs. There is also a travel cot provided on request as well as a high chair. The cottage benefits from its own secluded garden, perfect for kids and dogs, with a lovely stone barbecue and garden table and chairs (only put out in the spring and summer). We also have double glazing keeping the noise out and the heat in! All linens and towels are provided. Check-in any time after 4pm, check-out by 10am. Your dog is welcome, but please mention it on the booking request; there is a small pet charge of £15 to cover extra cleaning charges. The cottage is a stone's throw from a friendly local pub and there is an Indian restaurant at the end of the street as well as a fish'n'chip shop just round the corner. The local 'open all hours' convenience store and post office is a two minute walk away and it stocks pretty much everything you could ever need! The cottage is a great base for exploring Swanage, only a 15 minute walk or a short drive to the beach and all of the attractions that Swanage has to offer. A short drive from Swanage is Corfe Castle as well as the beautiful Purbecks, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Durlston Park is the other side of Swanage and the coastal path is beautiful.
