medieval village - majella national park
panoramic house in the medieval village, in Majella National Park, mountains and sea
Panoramic detached house in the old town center, in the Majella National Park, near the ski slopes, the Adriatic beaches and the airport of Pescara. The house is located in the old town center of Pretoro, a picturesque medieval village 600 meters above sea level, which is part of the Mountain community of Maielletta and belongs to the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy". For its location it offers stunning views of the peaks of the Majella National Park and the Adriatic Sea. Perfect base for trekking (the trails start at a few meters from the house) or for skiing (the ski facilities of Passo Lanciano are just a few kilometers). In the little square in front of the house there is the picturesque and well-stocked store of Enrico, which sells food and non-food goods. In the village and proximity to it there are several typical restaurants and pizzerias. You can enjoy typical and genuine Italian food. The house was restored in 2014 on the basis of the aesthetics of the village. It has 2 entrances and 3 floors. Ground floor: entrance-living room, bathroom with shower and washing machine. 1st floor: dining room with fireplace and kitchen, double bedroom with bath (no shower). 2nd floor: double bedroom with terrace, attic with 4 beds, bathroom with bathtub. The closest airport and train station are located in Pescara (about 40 km). There is a connection with a bus line but we suggest to use your own vehicles (or to rent one), especially for travel in the surrounding area. The house is reachable by car and - except in a few days of the year during the festivals of the village - parking nearby is easy.
