Hisa Gradnikova, The Curvy House, centre of Tolmin

Hisa Gradnikova... a quaint 1850's stone built cottage in the heart of Tolmin old centre. A unique style, with a curvy exterior, built around one of the tiny side streets of the old town. Our house is ideally located less than 850m from the festival venue in rock, metal days, reggae. The house is completely being renovated, including two new ensuites, with all brand new furniture. We will not have any photos until October 2017. Our house is one of the closest rental properties you can get to the beautiful Soca Valley river, where the festivals and water activities take place, where you access the river by walking down the the Dijaška Ulica road. It's location means you can walk to all the amenities; supermarkets, bars, and restaurants, and beach area. As you can see from the photos, the house has two front doors, one was used as the entrance for the animals, to the animal quarters with the living quarters above. The original 1850's cow ring and large stones in the walls, as well as brick work around the windows are all preserved. There is a lounge, with lots of windows (one floor to ceiling window as well), with a door this leads to a very small courtyard, with outside seating for 4 people and BBQ. The lounge windows views out onto the old narrow streets of Tolmin centre. A modern kitchen, all brand new, with table and seating for 4, gas hob, and wood burning stove, and a downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one having ensuite shower room, and a further family bathroom. Again, the views from the bedroom windows look out onto the old narrow streets of Tolmin old centre. New for summer 2020, we are having the attic converted, and for some parts of the house you will be able to see from the floor right up to the roof (looking through the beams). We have also created a small mezzanine sleep area for 2, with low level ceiling (only for sleeping, as you cannot stand up in this area). The attic stairs are also very steep, so not suitable for toddlers. There is solid 1850's original wooden flooring throughout the upper level. If you are looking for a clinically clean, smooth edges, modern property, do not book. We have curvy walls, in fact the entire is curvy, old worn floorboards, and original stone walls. We have two remote large fans, as well as a portable air cooling unit. We are not charging you for cleaning, and we expect you to leave the house as you found it (less the soiled laundry ). Please place all used bedlinen in the bath next to the washing machine, so we know what has been used - thank you. As a consequence of Covid, we no longer supply towels due to the extra high temperatures and length of time we are having to spend washing all bed linen. However, if you are unable to bring you own, we can arrange for the supply of towels at an additional cost of 20 euros per person (Bath and hand towel).
