We are surrounded with historical monuments amidst the constant daily activities of the locals. You'll only have to walk a few steps for your daily bread and wine. Everything you might want – grocery store, restaurants, bars, artisan shops – is within easy walking distance in our typical characteristic neighborhood. Piazza del Campo, the most famous square of Siena and site of the biannual Palio horse race is a mere five-minute walk while the Duomo is two-minutes away. Siena, in the heart of Tuscany is the best place to use as a base for exploring the surrounding areas. There are local busses to all the characteristic places nearby, such as San Gimignano, Montalcino, Pienza, San Quirico d'Orcia and Asciano, just to name a few! Our property was built in the 14th century and Buonsignori Apartment is on the second floor.. (Owners live on the third and fourth floors.) The small entrance way leads to the open-plan living/dining room. There is a modern kitchen with stove top cooking, oven, and all the necessary cutlery. The windows face the Via San Pietro and the Pinacoteca National museum from which you can watch the Palio parade in the comfort of your living room. The ceiling is typical historic wooden beams. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and an antique carved wooden closet. Large, modern bathroom is accessible from the bedroom. An outside courtyard is off this bedroom for relaxing in the quiet heart of Siena. Guided walking tours of Siena and nearby Florence can be arranged with a licensed, city guide at request.
