Property Description: This tastefully furnished studio apartment in the heart of Florence is only some steps away from the district of Santa Croce and has all the comforts of a home. It offers its guests a dining area with television, a well equipped kitchenette with all kinds of useful kitchen utensils, plus a kettle, toaster, electric oven and refrigerator. The sleeping area has a cosy double bed from which you can watch tv. The bathroom has a shower, bidet and a washing machine. Bed linens and towels, a courtesy kit for the bathroom and a fresh surprise in the fridge are all included. A large ceiling fan garanties a pleasant temperature even in the hottest days of the year. Not included in the price is the City Tourist tax of € 2.50 for each person (over the age of 12) per night, for the first 7 nights, which needs to paid in cash at the arrival. Area Description: This is the perfect apartment for those spending their holidays in Florence, who would like to enjoy a little taste of the old life and the ancient traditions of the city. The area around Santa Croce is full of tiny streets where you can find craft shops, framers, restorers and antique shops, but also restaurants and taverns with inviting menus full of classical Italian dishes. The apartment is located in the district of Santa Croce on the eastern edge of Florence's historic city centre. The area got its name from one of the city's most remarkable churches. The neighbourhood of Santa Croce provides a rare glimpse of 'old' Florence with lively markets and tiny leather and artisan workshops, including the flea market (Mercato delle Pulci) at Piazza dei Ciompi. The Mercato St. Ambrogio, the city's second main food market after the Mercato San Lorenzo, is very close and easy to reach by foot as well. Furthermore, the area is just a stone's throw from some of the city's main cultural attractions such as the Bargello Palace, which houses one of Italy's most important museums, the Casa Buonarroti, (the former home of Michelangelo), Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio, not to forget the magnificent Santa Croce church and museum. In addittion you will be able to enjoy a very large selection of boutique shops, bars and typical restaurants and pizzerias within the city. By night, Santa Croce becomes one of the liveliest parts of town and with its pedestrian zones and illuminated buildings it transforms into the perfect venue for a glass of wine after dinner or an evening stroll. The advantage of choosing an apartment in the area of Santa Croce is that it offers several food stores, supermarkets, laundrettes and individual gift shops as well as it is very well connected by the local public transport service. The Casa di Greta is easily accessible from the Central Station with the bus line C2. The bus stops at Teatro Verdi and after just a few hundred meters walk you have arrived! Otherwise the taxi will bring you in only two minutes to your destination. We kindly ask you for a copy of an official document for each guest for police registration purposes as required by Italian law. Guests will be welcomed on their arrival either by me or the owner. I will always be available from booking until your departure with a designated concierge service.
