Charming Village Gite On The Vézère River.

Lou Mitan Gite: In the parkland grounds of an old stone farmhouse, perched above the Vezere river, this gite is ideally located for exploring the Dordogne and Vezere valleys. Interior: The gite comfortably sleeps up to 6 people. On the ground floor there is a light, open plan kitchen, dining and living area (including a wood burner for the winter months) which opens onto the private garden terrace. There is also one double bedroom with doors onto the terrace and a separate toilet and shower room. Upstairs are two further bedrooms, one double and one twin and a second shower room. Outside: Immediately outside the gite is a small private garden and BBQ area. This comes complete with a table, chairs and sun umbrella for alfresco dining as well as a couple of sunbeds. In addition to the small private garden, all guests staying in Lou Mitan have full access to the house gardens including a private heated swimming pool which is gated and secure. The property also offers a good range of games including table tennis, badminton, and boules. For younger children there is also a garden slide and some swings. Surrounding Area: There is so much to do here it is difficult to know where to start. The walking here is wonderful, and even on the hottest days the woodland walks provide plenty of shade. There is a beautiful riverside walk to the nearby village of St Leon sur Vezere, which takes about 40 minutes. In St Leon are some lovely riverside cafes and bars, along with a small number of arts and craft shops. It is a popular destination for the many canoeists making their way down the Vezere river. We would also recommend a visit to the world famous Lascaux caves, which are only ten minutes away in Montignac. They are suitable for visitors of all ages. A visit here gives you an appreciation of just how far the human race has come over the last 20,000 years. If none of this is for you, you can always relax by the pool with a book.
