Yet once inside, guests are out of reach of any disturbance, adhering to the French expression ‘pour vivre heureux, vivons cachés’ - to live happily, live discreetly. Designed to balance tradition and modern comfort, the property has 320m2 (3400ft2) of spacious living areas that beckon you to stay and relax. Pomoeria sleeps up to 10 guests in five bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Each spacious room is individually air-conditioned and designed for pure comfort. The bathrooms feature hand-glazed tiles, a unique mirror and a large traditional style shower. Large windows in each room frame breathtaking views of the private gardens, the beautiful UNESCO-protected village of Saint-Émilion or classified-growth vineyards that stretch to the horizon. The large, thoughtfully designed open-plan kitchen is inspired by the traditional French country house while ensuring access to all the modern appointments for practical cooking. The kitchen includes a Lacanche piano with three ovens, a refrigerator with freezer and ice machine, a second refrigerator, two dishwashers, a wine cellar, a microwave and all of tools, utensils, tableware and glassware needed to turn your stay into an epicurean delight. The dining room directly adjoins the kitchen and includes an extendable wooden and wrought-iron table that can seat up to 12 people. The doors from the dining room lead directly to an outdoor terrace and pergola where guests can enjoy their pre-meal aperitifs. A spacious, 44 m2 (475ft2) living room beckons you to stay with a large sofa, antique chairs, a working fireplace and 100 year-old Bechstein upright piano. Three sets of french doors provide views towards the private gardens and access to the dining terrace under the pergola on the east side of the house. The intimate 24 m2 salon privé includes a writing desk and also acts as the TV room with a sofa and coffee table. A working fireplace completes the intimacy of the room. The study adjoins the shaded back terrace with wonderful views of Saint-Émilion village. The ground floor also includes a water closet, a laundry room with washer, dryer and sink as well as a large garage to store your luggage, bicycles and purchases. THE GARDEN Pomoeria’s fully-enclosed and tranquil garden invites you to lounge with shaded terraces, a swimming pool, a large croquet lawn and unique views of the village ramparts. Pomoeria’s 2500m2 (0.62 acre) southwest-facing garden allows you relax and entertain in perfect seclusion. Soak up the sun from the 10 x 4 metre heated, saline swimming pool and multiple lounging areas. Indulge your competitive spirit on the manicured croquet lawn. Dine alfresco under one of the villa’s two pergolas or back terrace. Prepare your meals at the outdoor summer kitchen which comes complete with a plancha and barbeque.
