Spacious and Chic - Pézenas Centre

Apartment Conti is a spacious, light-filled apartment of some 85 square metres set on the second floor of a classic honey-coloured building in the centre of Pézenas. Benefiting from high ceilings, beautiful French doors and juliet balcony L’es throughout, the apartment is dual aspect and typically bathed in lovely southern French light at all hours of the day. Finally, L’Appartement Conti was recently renovated and offers contemporary and characterful interiors throughout, bringing a touch of “bobo chic” to this beautiful, historic town! Rooms and Amenities Along with its selection of antiques and contemporary art, the living room boasts a 48 inch HD TV with Freebox. Also provided for guests’ entertainment are a Bang & Olufsen stereo system (with MP3/ Ipod connection) and a Blu Ray player. To round off the holiday experience, the owners also provide a number of classic CDs, DVDs and Blu Ray films for guests’ use. Off the living room is the spacious dining area with a long dining table, feature lighting and quirky bric a brac. The kitchen is well laid out and fully equipped with a large fridge freezer, cooker, oven, microwave, toaster and kettle as well as all manner of crockery and cooking utensils. As with all the other rooms, the kitchen benefits from a perfect small balcony to while away the time with a cup of coffee or glass of wine, here looking out over Rue Conti to the “Centre Historique”. The spacious master bedroom features a king size bed, cool clothing rail and antique furniture. The second bedroom can be configured as either two twins or one “Super King” bed and benefits from its own built in wardrobe. All beds have superior pocket sprung mattresses and are made up with high thread count cotton sheets for guests’ comfort. The main bathroom features a full size bath (with shower attachment), sink and a Bosch washing machine for guests’ use. There is also another shower room with its own sink and a separate toilet. Fluffy towels are provided for guests’ comfort and the bathrooms come ready-stocked with hand soap and shower gel. The apartment also has generous hallways with plenty of places to hang clothes, store shoes etc. Finally, L’Appartement Conti comes fully prepared with a bottle of rosé wine and a selection of welcome snacks to make guests feel at home. Overall, a beautiful and comfortable space to enjoy and relax in while exploring the wonders of Pézenas and the wider Languedoc-Roussillon region! Location L’Appartement Conti is located in the heart of the historic and beautifully preserved market town of Pézenas, near the corner of Rue Conti and Avenue de Verdun. With its many antiques dealers (as well as a selection of wine merchants, boulangeries and delicatessens) L’Avenue de Verdun is known widely as “La Route des Antiquaires” and the perfect place to spend time window shopping or browsing for antiques, artworks and nik naks. On the other of the apartment, Rue Conti is a beautiful narrow street lined with art dealers, delicatessens, restaurants and more leading to the stunning “Centre Historique” of Pézenas. Today, the Centre Historique (or “Old Town”) is filled with outdoor restaurants, boutiques, arts and craft shops and entertainment. Seasonal festivals, concerts, celebrations and a huge Saturday market take place year-round in Pézenas and it’s neighboring villages. Pézenas also hosts many food and wine-related events (which is fitting given that the town sits at the heart of France’s largest and most dynamic wine producing region). All of this, and more, is mere steps away from L’Appartement Conti. In the wider area, some of the finest beaches in Southern France are a short drive away at Agde and Sète, with towns such as Marseillan and Mèze famous for their oysters and seafood. Incredible sites like Le Pont de Gard, the medeval ramparts of Carcassone, or the cities of Montpellier, Narbonne, Beziers, Nimes and Arles all make wonderful daytrips from Pézenas. With so many beautiful and exciting things to do in the town and nearby, you will need more than a week just to scratch the surface of this enchanting region. Parking and Supermarkets Many guests will want to have a car to discover the local area. Thankfully, Pézenas has a wealth of parking options, most of them free. Parking is sometimes available at the start of Rue Conti or on Rue des Glacières, literally steps from the front door of the apartment. Otherwise, guests can stop briefly near the front door of the apartment to load/ unload (no parking directly outside the apartment as the street is single lane) and can then park their car for free at many of the municipal lots, which are but a short walk away. Parking Pres de St Jean is the nearest (about 2-3 mins walk from L’Appartement Conti, on the riverside). Other nearby parking lots (both free) are Le Vigneronne and Francoise Curee (near the cemetery). In terms of groceries and provisions, Pézenas benefits from a wealth of supermarkets conveniently located just outside the main town itself and just a short walk from L’Appartement Conti. There is a Carrefour hypermarket as well as a Lidl located on Avenue de Verdun. Closer by there is a large-ish Spar located on Rue Conti itself. There are also many good boulangeries, patisseries and specialist food and wine shops within minutes’ walk of the apartment.
