Situated in the heart of the popular riverside town of Dartmouth, the recently renovated and beautifully furnished Gulls Rest sits in an elevated position behind the historic Market Square, offering comfortable accommodation for families of five set over three spacious bedrooms. Whether you're an early riser looking to enjoy a sunrise cup of coffee on the composite deck to the front of the property, or prefer cosy winters evenings cosied up in front of the log burner, this cottage offers the best of both worlds, and is cleverly decorated with enchanting local artwork to immerse you in local culture and life. For exploring the delights of Dartmouth, there's arguably no better location - the historic Dartmouth Market Square sits right on your doorstep, with an outdoor market weekly and the eclectic indoor local shops to explore. Just a stones-throw away there are also a variety of local shops, restaurants, markets and bars to explore, with smells and tastes to delight the senses. The particular benefit of Gulls Rest means that, whilst you're in the heart of this beautiful south hams holiday town, you're also removed enough due to its elevated position, and able to enjoy the hustle and bustle from the raised position of your own space. A car parking permit is also offered for the Mayors Avenue Car Park, meaning you can park your car in the centre of the town and explore Dartmouth on foot, and further afield by car. Accommodation: A flight of 25 old stone steps from the road takes you up to the private enclosed front deck. The front door opens straight into the cosy sitting room with wood burning stove, comfortable sofas and armchair, Smart TV with DVD Stairs up to the first floor where you will find the brand-new light and airy kitchen/ dining room complete with integrated appliances including oven and hobs, fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The dining area has an extending dining table that comfortably sits 6. Off the kitchen is a small single bedroom with built in hanging space and access to the tiled family bathroom which includes bath with overhead shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. Stairs from the dining area lead up to the second floor where you will find the further two bedrooms and shower roo. The master bedroom has king size bed, built in hanging space and a chest of drawers, views are available from here over towards the town and market. The second bedroom is a twin room with hanging space and storage. There is an additional shower room on this floor containing a shower, toilet and wash basin. Central heating and woodburner (logs can be purchased locally). Outside: At the front of the property is the private enclosed deck made with grey composite material giving a fresh contrasting finish to the traditional mid terrace building. treated garden furniture including table and chairs, bench and potted plants, the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of fizz. It is possible to stop at the bottom of the steps to unload and a parking pass is provided for Mayors Avenue Car Park a 3 minutes' walk away. Please note the flight of stairs up to the property are quite steep and a little uneven. Parking: The car park pass provided is valid for Mayors Avenue car park a 2-minute walk away. Please note that at significantly busy times of the year such as Regatta and the height of summer the pass does not guarantee a space, on the rare occasion the car park is full the permit is valid for the park and ride at the top of town. Nearby: The shops and restaurants are a 2 minute walk away. At Coronation Park you will find the Anchorstone Cafe that is great for alfresco dining. On the riverfront you will find Mitch Tonks 'The Rockfish' and 'The Seahorse'. Also on the river front you will find transport links via the ferries and steam train. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Friday changeover and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact us with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover.
