Rent a magnificent charming house of 350 m2 for your holiday in Southern Ardeche. The rental is an old mansion, with two floors, located in Joyeuse, the most central city of the area. ROOMS 3 tastefully decorated rooms, in the spirit of a noble house of the 18th century, will welcome you, from 2 to 6 people (on request, up to 8). These 3 bedrooms have a shower room en suite or a bathroom, with toilets. Old like taps, "water pearl" system in the shower, simple but refined decoration: everything is made to keep a sense of being out of the time but with modern comfort. Sheets, towels, provencal soaps are provided. Beds are made at your arrival. If necessary, a baby bathtub and umbrella bed can be provided free of charge. A 4th room on 1st floor, but without toilets & bathroom remains at your disposal if you need an extra room for more than 6 people. Please do contact us before booking to be sure it is possible! LIVING ROOM A beautiful living room overlooking a beautiful and large roof terrace equipped with a computer, wi-fi, board games, fireplace. KITCHEN A kitchen with a very large fireplace from 18th century: dishwasher, microwave, cooker, large fridge. A wine cellar with a 40 bottle capacity, wine tasting glasses and decanter. A laundry room with washing machine, dryer, ironing board, iron, laundry basket. OUTSIDE 2 superb panoramic roof terraces on each floor of this extraordinary historic home. You will enjoy a beautiful view on the countryside and the historic old town of the duchy of Joyeuse. Electric barbecue is provided on the 2nd floor terrace. HISTORY OF THE HOUSE The house is a former mansion of the 18th century, preserved in its original style and atmosphere. At the center of the house, an incredible staircase stands proud since 1720. The long and rare façade is splendid with its beautiful old tile windows. JOYEUSE CITY Our home is in the historic city center of Joyeuse city, which literaly means "Happy"! It is pedestrian in summer time, but always accessible to residents. Many parkings are available around the city center, which is very small (400 meters long, our house being right in the middle of it). Joyeuse is the only duchy of Ardeche, which explains why you will find so many old mansion facades: the old city stands on a rocky hill between the Ardeche Canyon and the Regional Park of Ardeche Mountains. SHOPS The house you will rent is very conveniently located 200 meters from all kinds of shops: bakery, grocery store, greengrocer, butcher, etc. This is a real asset to limit car travel time, especially in summer time... THE REGION South Ardèche is an extraordinary tourist area. The natural landscape is varied and rich. Picturesque villages are numerous and worth a walk. Quality of life, natural local products, often from organic agriculture will allow you to prepare and enjoy memorable meals. Our house is ideally located at the crossroad of South Ardeche: if you want to discover the Ardeche Caves, the Cave of the Pont d'Arc, or the Parc des Monts d'Ardèche, and at the same time all picturesque villages and the most remarquable sightseeing places, our location is perfect.
