In one of the most enviable positions in Salcombe, this former fisherman’s cottage is right at the heart of everything. Completely refurbished in 2020, the property offers the best that a Salcombe holiday home has to offer; beautiful design, a homely vibe, space for family and friends, local charm and it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from shops, restaurants, the beach and the local bakery for morning croissants. The Grade II listed property has three bedrooms, peppered with a combination of contemporary furnishings and carefully chosen antiques. Upstairs you will find the master bedroom, which has a sash window and window seat with views of the Lifeboat and towards East Portlemouth. The second bedroom also has sash windows - this time with views of Snape’s Point - and features two single beds with zip link mattress so it can be used as a super king as well. The floor is complete with a brand new shower room and loo. Downstairs you will find the third bedroom, which has been designed as a family room with a king-sized bed and single bed so it can sleep up to three people. There is also another bathroom, this time with a claw-footed bath and overhead shower, loo and sink. The heart of the property is the immaculate open plan living, kitchen and dining space. The Master Class kitchen brings together contemporary fixtures and fittings (built in microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher) while an adjoining utility room provides a washing machine and storage. The living area has an electric wood burner, corner sofa, snuggle seat and floor cushions as well as a television and vintage style radio for evenings in. Meanwhile, the dining area includes another window seat so you can enjoy dinner with a view. Outside, to the front of the property, is a pretty courtyard brimming with roses and looking straight out onto the quay. It is furnished with a table and chairs that seat eight and a bench to sit and watch the world go by. There’s also a gas barbecue for summer evenings. Good to know... This property is cleaned by leading property management company, Pebbles, established in 2004 and operating across South Devon and East Cornwall. The service includes their dedicated Safeguarding Programme, which launched in 2020, to ensure health and safety standards. The programme is informed by Government guidance (reviewed daily), benchmarked against travel industry practices, and aims to account for all recommendations from the many marketing agents to minimise the risk of Covid-19 transmission. As with all areas of their service, the Safeguarding Programme undergoes constant re-evaluation to ensure necessary or recommended updates are incorporated. If you would like to speak to us about the Safeguarding Programme, please contact the manager of this property. About a holiday in Salcombe Salcombe is a historic fishing and sailing town that has become famous as a holiday destination because of its natural beauty and its local charm. Blessed with more beaches than you can visit in a week, a jaw-dropping estuary and magnificent walks along the South West Coast Path, it’s also filled with local traditions. For example, there’s the Town Regatta in August, excellent sailing opportunities, its own gin and ice cream factories, unparalleled clotted cream fudge, a magnificent bakery, and restaurants such as Captain Flint’s and The Winking Prawn that have practically become a rite of passage for visitors. We strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance to cover you for the full cost of the stay.
