Located near the final stretch of the "Cervo" stream, it gently slopes on the Ligurian Sea and is the first Municipality of the renowned Riviera dei Fiori. Inhabited since prehistoric times by the Ligurian Ingauni and following the Roman invasion in 181a. c., the primitive village, became an important center, thanks to its strategic position and the presence of some sources. Rich in history, Cervo presents architectures of various eras including the parish church of "San Giovanni Battista", which rises above the hill. It is also known as "Chiesa dei Corallini", as it was built thanks to the proceeds of coral fishing. A country rich in culture suitable for those who want to experience a peaceful holiday. Deer and music. In 1964 the Hungarian vionist Sandor Vegh fell in love with the Church of the Corallini and the extraordinary acoustics of the place. He managed to convince the municipal administration in what at that time seemed to be a titanic enterprise, but which over time has become one of the most famous and long-lived summer festivals on the national scene. On the parched stage of the Cervo International Chamber Music Festival, dominated by soft pastel colors and Rococo stuccos on the façade of the Church of S. Giovanni Battista, they played all the greats of International Classical Music and not just the stars of our house. Among the latter, however, we remember Uto Ughi, Benedetto Michelangeli, Salvatore Accardo and Severino Gazzelloni. Over the years, the relationship between Cervo and music has become closer and more fruitful, also thanks to other satellite festivals dedicated to specific instruments and musical genres. The Summer Academy, held at the end of August, has attracted hundreds of young musicians from all over the world for almost two decades.
