La Germainiere Normandy Farmhouse

La Germainiere is a superb old farmhouse that has been completely renovated and modernised to create a really lovely holiday home with enormous character. It has beamed ceilings, massive stone walls, tiled floors, a huge Normandy fireplace and full central heating. The view from the sun terrace is beautiful with rolling fields and trees. There is a large table and chairs for alfresco dining with a barbecue and shaded, vine covered seating area. The house is a pretty short walk from the village of Grimesnil. The surrounding countryside is gently undulating and totally unspoilt, with lovely walks. The local villages boast a host of restaurants, all good, some superb. The nearby village of St Denis Le Gast bakes the morning croissants and warm French loaves. The magnificent private 10x5m heated swimming pool available from May to October, is set on the lower lawn away from the house and has beautiful views of the valley. There are sun loungers, a large changing hut and table and chairs. The coast with its beautiful, unspoilt beaches is only a 15 minute drive away and within reach are Mont St Michel, the D-Day beaches and medieval town of Bayeaux. The market towns of Gavray and Hambye (10 mins) have shops, cafes and supermarkets and the lovely cathedral city of Coutances is 15 minutes drive. The farmhouse is less than 90 minutes drive from Cherbourg, Caen and St Malo and we can offer a 20% discount on all Brittany Ferry crossings for any number of cars and passengers. It is an easy drive from Calais or Paris (Orly Airport) on amazing motorways.
