Casa do Bairro is 3 bedroom house, located at the unique colorful 60´s neighborhood of the city. It is your absolute perfect base point to go explore the island daily. This house is a little city oasis at a 5 minute drive from all connections to Sete Cidades, Furnas, Nordeste, the airport, city center and at walking distance from all services needed during your stay (supermarket, shops, restaurants, food delivery, laundry, etc.). HOUSE AND HOST DETAILS Hi I´m Monique, a designer born and raised in the Azores, and this is my new guest home in Ponta Delgada. I´m already a "super host" at Villa Várzea since 2015, if you are also looking for an awesome place to stay, on the West, check it out! But if you are planning on making Ponta Delgada your base point to explore the island, this is the house for you. The location makes it really easy for you to take day trips to all parts of the island. From the outside, the yellow Casa do Bairro looks everything like the its sister houses, in the neighborhood, colorful and with a very traditional facade. But when you open the door you will be welcomed by newly remodeled bright spaces, a bohemian chic upscale decor based on the use of natural materials, and that wonderful sense of feeling at home. Cozy spaces indoor designed for comfort, and sunny patios outside where you can set your little oasis every morning before you go exploring the island, or observe the sunset on the airplane observation deck (that´s how I call it, because it´s so tall you can observe the airplanes land) at the end of the day. GUEST ACCESS The house is all yours when you book, no other guests or people living in it. You have access to all common areas (kitchen, living room, patios...) but please note, based on our price discount per occupation, access to the rooms are as follow: If you book for 1-2 people - you have access to ONE bedroom and ONE bathroom on ground floor; If you book for 3-4 people - you have access to TWO bedrooms and TWO bathrooms on ground floor; If you book for 5-6 people - you have access to all THREE bedrooms (one on the 1st floor) and TWO bathrooms; Areas are organized as follow. On the ground: 1 Living room with sofa (can be turned into a sofa bed to exceptionally accommodate a child or teenager), tv with international channels 1 Kitchen and dinning area with all you need to prepare your meals 1 Bedroom with a large double bed and an en-suite bathroom with bathtub 1 Bedroom with large double bed 1 Bathroom with walk in shower Outdoor patio and lounge area On the 1st floor: 1 Bedroom with double bed Outdoor patios Outdoor stairs take you to the observation deck on the 2nd floor CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT Since I run 2 guest houses, Villa Várzea and this one, I might not always be available in person to check you in. In that case don´t worry, the house comes equipped with easy self check-in system, the key is on a safe box located outside, and I will provide a 4 digit code to unlock it. And inside I have prepared all of the info you need for your stay. I´m always available on my mobile if you need anything! NEIGHBORHOOD Casa do Bairro is located on a typical neighborhood, with locals living there and doing their daily routines. At 5 min. walking distance you have supermarket, fruit shop, coffee shop, restaurant&takeaway. At 15 min.walking you reach the Shopping Center, and at 20 min. walking the center of Ponta Delgada city. PLEASE NOTE Casa do Bairro is at a 5 minute distance from the airport. Expect some noise from flight landing and taking off between 8AM-11PM. No washing or dish washing machine is available for guests use. The house has terraces on first and second floor, with either glass guards or low guards. The stairs to the first floor are modern and open, as you see on the photos. We welcome children of all ages, as long as you are ok with this.
