Gorgeous Getaway in the Heart of a Tuscan Town
Immerse yourself in a charming Tuscan experience in this beautifully restored olive mill that dates back 400 years. Offering luxury, comfort, space and your own private garden, this stylish apartment is the perfect location from which to explore the best of Tuscany. Located in the centre of a medieval town, rustic restaurants, gourmet shops and wine bars are within walking distance. Incorporating beautiful antique Tuscan pieces, yet including all the things one wants to be modern, this elegant town house provides the perfect introduction to Italy's famed 'Dolce Vita'. Being located right in the centro storico of Lucignano, everything is within walking distance, whether you want to get your morning cafe, dine at one of the many restaurants or trattorias, or simply get supplies from one of the wonderful gourmet food shops. The space With direct access from Via Roma and from the private garden, the apartment features a spacious and comfortable living room which opens directly onto this area. This is an ideal place for alfresco dining with its outdoor setting for 6 persons shaded by a large sun umbrella. The upper level features a spacious living room, fireplace, open-plan fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and modern bathroom which contains a roll-top bath and separate shower. Your own separate laundry with front loading machine is located on this level. A large double bedroom is located on the lower level which opens directly onto the garden. An extra bed can easily be set up in this room or on the upper level. One feature of Appartamento Giardino, which is not typical of properties in Lucignano, is that you can access the apartment from the rear just off the town’s circular road via your own private gate to the free parking. Parking is approximately 50 metres from the apartment. As is typical in Tuscan holiday rentals, the cost for heating is not included in the rental but is an additional charge based on usage. Guest interaction All guests will be met by a Lucignese local bilingual speaker (English and Italian). Apart from providing you with information about Lucignano and the surrounding attractions, she will also be you point of contact during your stay should any issues arise. The Neighbourhood Lucignano, known as the 'Pearl of the Val di Chiana' (valley of Chiana) is an historic walled hilltop town. Whilst Lucignano is important historically, it is not overrun with tourists and for those who wish to try out their Italian language skills, you will find the locals patient and friendly. Lucignano is very proud of their Orange Flag Award for "the promotion of cultural heritage, hospitality, the quality of accommodation, catering and local products”. There’s an overabundance of things to do and see, because this part of Tuscany has been value-adding since Etruscan times. Renaissance paintings and Gothic Cathedrals, spectacular walks and cycling, sensational slow food, hills laden with vines and ancient olive groves. Sienna, Montepulciano, Cortona, Pienza, Florence, Assisi, or Arezzo are a short drive away. After a day of climbing the cobbled streets of surrounding hillside villages, relax in the garden with a glass of Vino Nobile. Getting around Public transport is available outside the main gate, with regular buses to Siena and Arezzo. From the train station in Arezzo, it is possible to connect to any part of Italy.
