Situated at the quiet end of the main street of Angaston, this classic late 1840s cottage features modern and comfortable décor as well as a level backyard with a pretty cottage garden which is ideal for a glass of wine on a summers evening. Two bedrooms with queen size beds and quality linen. The bathroom has been tastefully renovated in keeping with the character of the cottage. Please note the shower is over the original claw foot bath. The country style eat in kitchen has the original flagstones flooring from 1843, with a dishwasher, oven, induction stove, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, toaster and fridge. Cooking utensils also available. Breakfast provisions include a selection of tea's, coffee pods, cereals, milk and toast. Sufficient supplies for a moderate breakfast on the first morning. Provisions are not provided beyond the first day. Some cooking staples are also provided. The lounge has ample seating for 4 guests and a Smart TV with complimentary WiFi. On a winters evening you will be warmed and entranced by the charm of the combustion stove. Ideal to ponder with a glass of Barossa Shiraz. The rate is based on 2 guests, ( one bed) , there is an additional charge per person for the 2nd bedroom. This is a non smoking property inside. Guest Access: Guests have access to the entire property. Access – We have a key safe at the rear of the property by the back door, so access is easy. We can be contacted on (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or via email (EMAIL HIDDEN) Shops, just a short walk away include a butcher (great bacon), baker, pharmacy, ATM's and supermarket that's open until 7.00pm all within a 5 min walk. The Neighborhood: Angaston, known as the Jewel of the Barossa offers a great diversity of restaurants, cafe's, a cooking school, Cassa Carboni as well as Barossa Valley Cheese Company Don't forget the Farmers Market every Saturday, do some shopping, have some breakfast and cook up a great dinner in the modern kitchen. Held each Saturday from 7.30 to 11.00 great Brekky Burgers. The cottage is within easy access to the other towns of the Barossa only an 8 minute drive to Tanunda and Nuriootpa, which opens up this great wine and food region. Getting Around: There is a taxi service but no Uber available in the area. As a special offer to our guests we can arrange a private wine tour for the day guided by Jonathan from Barossa Taste Sensations and your host at Fig Tree Cottage. Drawing on over 10 year experience the tour focuses on the boutique wineries that highlight the diversity of this great wine region. Inquire for availability and our 'guest' rate. Other Things to Note: Kate and Jonathan have lived locally for many years. They are well known characters. Should any need arise they can assist with suggested itineraries. Otherwise you will have the house to yourselves and will not be disturbed Please do give us a call if you do require anything.
