The Snug is a cosy ground floor bedroom with the original stone barrel vaulted ceiling. Staying in this room is like time travel back to the 16th Century. There are some necessary luxuries though like underfloor heating, en suite shower/WC with rain shower, antique hand painted bathroom suite, a bespoke oak headboard from a tree fallen on the nearby Poltalloch estate and luxury linens. This room has exposed stone everywhere you look. A unique bedroom! Kilmartin Castle was built in 1550 for John Carswell, the Rector of Kilmartin, later Bishop of the Isles. It was held by the Campbell Clan, then abandoned for 200 years. Now, a luxury retreat for walkers, history lovers, couples, families & friends who enjoy discovering unique places to stay.
