Perfect for Holidays, family reunions, graduations, small weddings etc. Unique home in the heart of Giles County; the first owner was William Bane Snidow, the 1st Commonwealth's attorney from Giles County. The home stayed in his family until the 70's when it was purchased by Dr. Joe McGuire, who made may additions & upgrades. We are only the 3rd owners in 116 years! The original Craftsman woodwork is intact and the furnishings are also from this period/school of design. Come make yourself at home in this historic & well-loved home. This first floor bedroom (originally Mr. Bane's law office) is furnished with period waterfall front furniture, a table & chairs and an armchair. An electric fireplace provides ambiance & extra heat and a ceiling fan provides additional cooling. It adjoins a large private bathroom with a double sink and large shower. Small Refrigerator/freezer & microwave. Private entrance off main foyer. Common areas include: -Dining room with guest refrigerator & microwave plus glasses, plates, flatware, etc. Coffee & tea are always available. -During nice weather, you may want to sit on the patio or one of the expansive porches. There are picnic tables, swings, grape arbors scattered about the property and games such as bocce ball & croquet available. -Living Room: During cold or rainy weather play music on the piano or through speakers with aux cord) , books, puzzles and board games. -Foyer: Arm Chairs in front of a candle lit fireplace -Walking distance to grocery stores & restaurants, laundromat, outdoor municipal pool, massage, post office, outfitter & the Appalachian Trail! If you need suggestions or help planning activities, I have plenty of ideas! I can tell you my favorites. If I happen to be going anywhere interesting, I may invite you along : ) Older neighborhood with big trees and friendly but quiet neighbors. Walking distance to downtown. Great views of the Blue Ridge from upper floors. Easy walking to the small downtown area. Free parking downtown. The fire department sometimes uses a siren to call the volunteers. Don't worry; it's not a tornado warning!
