Free access to big garden with trees, equipped BBQ, wood oven, bicycles, outdoor shower, hammocks and sunbeds. 1) This building is in classic style and has two bedrooms (one big attic with own toilet) big living room with a sofa bed, big fully equipped kitchen and two big terraces with view to the forest and sea. Accommodate 8 visitors (additional baby cradle and push chair) 2) The renovated home has two bedrooms (one single and one double bed) a living room with a sofa bed and fully equipped kitchen and big terrace around. Accommodates 5 visitors. (All the HOUSE totally 13 visitors) We will be glad to assist you if you need anything. Kanakia offers perfect recreation without big market place and cafes. On the way to the beach, after the playground, you will find mini market with fresh fruit and vagetables and souvlaki shop. The Kanakia beach is the most beautiful on the island, wide, with wonderful landscape and many trees providing shadow. There you can find the solely and nice tavern for food or coffee. In the beautiful pine tree forest, there are many options for picknick, hiking and biking paths (amateur and professional mountain bike races are organized yearly). 3 km away from Kanakia is situated the St. Nikolaos Monastery (17th century) and close to it is the worthy to visit St. Ioannis Kalivitis Church (10th century), the solely Byzantine monument on the island. Archaeologists associate the capital of Salamina with Kanakia, as the oldest capital of the island. It is worthy to visit the "Mycenean Akropolis at Kanakia" (excavations were undergoing for years) the Palace of Ajax the Great, the son of king Telamon ("Ajax was the mythical king of Salamina and one of the greatest heroes from the Trojan War) We can provide you transportation by car (Peugeot 308) from the Airport or a place from your wish. Reasonably cost will be incurred Kanakia is 70 km away from Athens International Airport and 33 km away from Athens city centre. There is boat connection (Perama-Paloukia) every 15 minutes, 24/7, 365 day per year. The trip is only 15 minutes and costs 1 euro per person and 4.7 euro per car. Unfortunately there is no bus connection from the port of Salamina to Kanakia. Tap water is drinkable. It is provided from the central water system (EYDAP Athens)
