Stringybark Hills Retreat
Light and airy large rooms with private en suites, on 3 acres of bush land with plenty of local bird life, koalas and bandicoots. Situated 30 mins drive from Adelaide CBD and adjacent to Warrawong wildlife sanctuary, the house is a peaceful retreat while still being close to many other attractions in the Adelaide Hills including Handorf, world class winery areas, McLaren Vale, & the Barossa Valley and the Adelaide hills themselves. An easy commute down the South East Freeway to Adelaide. We have purpose built our home to be wheelchair friendly, in a beautiful bush setting. Our two suites are quite private, each with access to a private outdoor area, and full use of our 3 acres ( 1.5 hectares) of Aussie bush. Observe our birdlife and go koala spotting. Our guests have use of a large living and dining area with wood fire place, and access to tea and coffee making, small fridge and microwave. Half our house is for the sole use of our Guests, our two suites have use of a large living and dining area. We love travelling and staying at BnBs, and would love to interact with you if that is your wish. We respect your privacy, and are away from home during the day. Mylor is a delightful small village in the Adelaide Hills, which is a step back in time. Visit the General Store (1894), Coopers Rural Store (1892) and the acclaimed Harvest Cafe. It is always central to the Tour Down Under in January each year, and Warrawong Sanctuary reopens in 2018. Many local wineries, cheesemakers, seasonal fruits lead to enjoyable day drives and picnics. The Heysen trail for walkers runs through Mylor's main street. We have limited public transport available, but a regular hourly bus service is available from Aldgate (5 minute drive away). Cycling is popular in the hills. Walkers will love the many parks and the Heysen trail. -
