Coimbra Erasmus House - Guest House
The house was born from the spirit of sharing between students from different areas, ages and cultures. Recreating the atmosphere of Coimbra's tradicinal repúblicas, the space offer moments of conviviality, but also privacy and confort. Each room has a desk, storage bed, shelves and plenty of natural light. The neighborhood has all the services around - Market, pharmacy, laundry and bus stops - very close to the house. Feel the true Coimbra of the students with an amazing experience of stay! The house has 6 toilets and a bathroom with 4 showers - mixed; showers are separated into individual cabins. All floors are connected by stairs. Kitchen utensils are shared and can be used by guests - as well as common foods like spices, salt and sugar. A house and city information book is available in all rooms. In this book it is possible to find for exemple the wi-fi password and the mode of operation of house appliances. We don't have a washing machine in the house, but there's the possibility to use a laundry that's just 2 minutes by walk from the house :) I'm usually available at home or on my phone number to answer any questions and help guests with what is needed :) Check-in can be done personally or by the guest - depending on my availability. The surroundings of the house only makes it more special - you can do almost everything on foot! - There's a mall (Alma Shopping) 700 meters from the house; supermarket (Pingo Doce) 200 meters from the house; Pharmacy 250 meters from the house; Laundry 150 meters from the house; Coffees and restaurants (Safari Café, Dux petiscos & Vinhos, Afonso Café, and others) in the street of the house; Praça da República, the meeting point for Coimbra's students, is around 1 km from the house and it's possible to find there restaurants, bars and clubs! Universidade de Coimbra is around 1 km from the house, and in the way we advice you to take a walk at the botanical garden, the view is amazing, doesn't matter the season of the year :) If you don't have a car don't worry! The main services and turistic points of the city are closer - almost everything is accessible on foot. There's one bus stop in front of the house's gate where the main lines pass (acess the website of SMTUC to check the schedules). If you have a little more time in Coimbra, we also recommend a trip to Serra da Lousã. Located 42km from Coimbra (it's possible to do one day trips by bus or tourist agencies in Coimbra), Serra offers breathtaking scenery and many interesting walks through the historic Xisto Villages.
