Lily's Farm Studio, Wheatsheaf, Victoria
Nestled among the tall timber on the edge of the Wombat State Forest you will find Lily’s Farm Studio. We are a 10 minute drive from Daylesford, the most popular weekend getaway destination in Victoria. Our self contained studio is warm, comfortable and well-appointed with a fully equipped kitchen and all the modern conveniences you would expect. There’s a reverse cycle air condition to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. Please note that we (the owners) live on site. You’ll find the fridge and the pantry well stocked. Don’t want to cook breakfast? No problem, pop in to our local café down at the Glenlyon General Store. There’s some vintage sound equipment in the studio. Spin an LP or play a cassette. Oh, and there’s a DVD player and a video player. Video – anyone remember that? We have a jetty out across the dam. Open a bottle of wine, sit back and watch the lilies fade away as the evening closes in. A haven for native wildlife, we have our usual crop of visitors in the early morning or the late afternoon. Don’t be surprised to find a kookaburra at your window or a kangaroo outside your door. You will be sharing the property with your hosts Lee and Trevor, who live in a separate house, but you are free to roam the 5 acres at will. There is a 90 metre seasonal dam. Take a swim if you wish. Down at the back of the property you will find Kangaroo Creek. It usually flows between June and December. Talk a walk around. Wheatsheaf is a small housing estate on the edge of the Wombat State Forest, 10 minutes drive north east of Daylesford. Daylesford is one of Victoria’s most romantic and relaxing towns. Enjoy a meal at one of Daylesford’s award-winning eateries, or spiritual nourishment in the world-famous mineral springs. Natural attractions abound in Daylesford, from the stately gardens of Wombat Hill Botanical Park, to the superb serenity of Lake Daylesford, to the rugged terrain and trails of Hepburn Regional Park. If fossicking about in boutiques and galleries and Sunday markets is more your thing, Daylesford has plenty to occupy the most discerning of treasure hunters. There are many local festivals throughout the year which showcase the region’s charm in all its many colours. One of the best things about Daylesford is that it's wonderful all year round. Its wide shady boulevards in Spring and Summer turn brilliant shades of red and gold in Autumn, while Winter is the time for enjoying open fires, hearty local reds, and the cosiness of Daylesford village life.
